Currently I am working on a 96x96 Italian front moc. Once this is done my plan is to make a smaller eastern front moc, exact scenario is not decided yet. Alongside these Mocs I will also be building some vehicles so stay tuned for that.

Hello There - Bobkitten peeking above a fallen log. I don't see adult Bobcats going up trees too often, but do see this behavior very often with kittens. It's a great safety/anti-predator mechanism for the mothers to leave them in trees/brush while hunting.
If you'd like to see more of my Bobcat work, feel free to checkout my IG: @sswildlife
Species: Bobcat (Lynx rufus)
Location: Northern California, CA, USA
Equipment: Canon EOS R5 + RF 100-500mm IS
Settings: 1/1000s, ISO: 1250, f/7.1 @500mm, Handheld, Electronic Shutter
Caught through the trees: a pair fawns (twins) greeting another fawn (perhaps a cousin) at the edge of the woods near my home.
That is such a coooool guy !!!
We were doing some gardening and stopped for a coffeebrake. Then we saw that hedgehog and made pictures from 12 meters...
But we decided to stalk that little guy ;-) we got 2 meters close and he was looking at us sooo cute ;-)
Then maybe he thought "well, they are quit tall, i better stroll into the ivy"
//
I've been wanting to take some shots of this set-up for a while. Figured might as well do it with the new camera!
Gear list:
- Nikon D300 body
- Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX HSM (non-macro)
- Sigma TS-41 tripod collar
- Nikon SB-800 flash
- Nikon SC-29 flash sync cord
- Samigon VH-flip bracket
- Dynatran AT-3001 tripod
My D300 arrived the day after I shipped my D200 out. I found a used one from a seller on the Nikonians site with 5k shutter actuations with the grip at a price I couldn't pass up. It looks pretty much brand new.
Here are my first impressions after a couple test shots:
1) It looks like a D200. It feels like a D200. The only major physical difference is the 3" LCD screen and the new rubber cover for the wired remote and flash sync. The overall button layout is very similar.
2) The LCD is bright and colorful. I was happy with the D200's LCD and this one is even better.
3) The viewfinder is improved since you only see the focus point that is being used.
4) ISO is at least one stop better than the D200. So ISO 1600 is the new ISO 800.
5) The shutter sound is similar to the D200 but is definitely different. Hard to explain but it sounds like it has more "depth". It sounds awesome.
6) The design of the vertical grip has improved. The contour on the the back is better, the fit is better, and it has a toggle that allows you to select focus points instead of having to use the command wheel.
7) 8fps sounds sick.
8) I can't use Photoshop CS2 with D300 RAW files so I'm stuck having to learn Nikon CaptureNX for post processing unless I want to shell out money for Lightroom or CS3. BAH!
9) Can't wait to use the AF fine-tune feature
10) User manual is 400 pages so I better start reading...

I had the privilege of being asked by a friend to take a couple of photos of her with her newborn baby. She wanted me to "do something different".
Hello, I love you
Won't you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you

The cold winter has passed, and now comes spring.
The newly hatched baby birds will cause the mother birds to sing.
The warm sun comes out, little cherry blossoms are in bloom.
Beautiful roses will open up and smell of sweet perfume.
The wind's soft breeze passes through the tall trees.
There will be plenty of work for the busy honey bees.
From flower to flower, they fly and buzz all day.
Spring is that magical time during March, April, and May.

Here's a quick little shot taken with my phone (that has a surprisingly good camera for spur of the moment thing like this). After much waiting and anticipation MBTA 1137 is finally approved for revenue service and after a couple days running south side was added to a set at BET this morning and is out running. Here she is before dawn ready to go on Layover 1 West in Yard 14 waiting to be taken over to North Station in a few hours.
GP40MC 1137 was originally blt. Aug. 1975 by GMDD as a GP40-2LW CN 9607 and rebuilt ny Alstom in 1997. In 2021-2022 it was rebuilt again by MassDOT at their facility in Rochester and was released for service in this blue scheme identical to sister 1136 excepting the addition of small 'South Coast Rail' lettering on the hood beneath the MassDOT logos. More importantly though, the air brake system was rebuilt back to a 26-L system with a 30-CDW control stand meaning this locomotive can be used for work train service with freight equipment with needed. Upgraded with traction. interlock and with ATC pick up bars on both ends as well as switching steps and ditch lights it is truly a bi-directional and multi purpose machine. Long overdue, let's just hope it works!

i saw this bad boy about six months ago and have coveted it from that very moment. i orginally wanted the mr. bento lunch jar, just could not find it locally, and with they shipping and duty i would have to pay for it over the internet...well....then i saw this...it was $79...steep...too steep for me....then i went back again today taking a chance that they might have some sort of left over "boxing week" sale...sure enough it was 30% off...$55 CND...still not cheap, but cheap enough for me to snap it up...it does not have the 4 containers that Mr. Bento has as you can see, but what can you do?
