Me and my class is stuck in San Francisco because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland. This is Jan who spends his time missing his girlfriend Tina. Hopefully they'll see each other soon.
I'm sweating,

There's now 300 of you guys? Amazing. I love the little community I've found here on Instagram. The whole TOS debacle showed me just how much I like you guys, when I was heartbroken over the thought of loosing you. After their apparent flipflop I'm sticking around, but am prepared to say goodbye if they choose to go with terms I can't agree to. With that in mind I need to get to know you all outside of Instagram! Reilly was heartbroken when Scruffy , our 5 yr. companion guinea pig passed. We found there was room in our hearts for another. Here she is taming Reilly. Doesn't he look happy? Scruffy, we'll never forget you.

Same walnut and 'shoot' as this.
Edited it ages ago, but never put it up. I have a number of shots that I've worked on and completed, like this, but was too self conscious to put up in the end. I've got a bajillion ideas, but I'm still blocked - not creatively then, it seems, but maybe physically. I realized that these finished works just sitting around are really bugging me, and I'm going to purge my system by sharing what I want to share and just getting rid of the ones I made to share but am too shy to do. Or won't share for whatever reason. Maybe then I'll be able to work on some new stuff - something I haven't really seriously done in forever.
It seemed as good a time as any to put up an 'emo' one =p

Has it ever happened that you let something sit around so long that you ended up seeing it sooo much.. so that when you finally put it where it needed to go, it felt blah no matter what? That's how I feel about this one now - I've seen it so much that I can't even decide for myself whether I think it's good or not.. I feel like I'm beginning to hate it. o_O

For project03, I’ve decided to create a lyric typography that follows the song: “iRobot” by Jon Bellion. The story behind the song is that the artist is heartbroken to the point where he no longer feels human. The artist/writer feels that he’s dead and that his heart has been “ripped” out thus making him a robot. In his music, he explains that he’s a robot and expresses deep sorrow. The design and mood for this project I have chosen is dark, sad, hipster, and clean. I don’t want to get too complicated with the animation because I want the viewer to focus on the lyrics and understand what the artist is trying to get across to the viewer. For the animation, I plan to use masking, opacity effects, slide-in position effects and quick transition effects. The typography should follow your typical animation you would normally see from other types of typography projects. Although the song is slow, it’s still going to follow and match the sequence of the artists’ lyrics. To finish my animation, I’ll have the typography slide away then slide away and finally disappear with an opacity effect. The reason I have chosen this song is because I enjoy the melody of the song and the lyrics of the artist, Jon Bellion. I believe his song is very beautiful and expresses his emotional state with creative idioms I would have a hard time coming up with. I.e…She’s as sweet as honey. Whenever I feel upset or just overwhelmed I have music to choose as an escape. I believe that when you’re able to connect with an artist via lyrics then they have done a great job of sharing mutual thoughts with their fan base. My hopes for this project is to further enhance an already great song with the viewer.
