Mehrere hundert Menschen, hauptsächlich Auszubildende aus den Pflegeberufen, beteiligen sich am 12.05.2019 am dritten "Walk of Care" in Berlin.
Die Protestierenden setzen sich für grundsätzliche Verbesserungen in Ausbildung und Arbeitsbedingungen in der Pflege ein und weisen auf die unmenschlichen und würdelosen Zustände im deutschen Gesundheitsbereich hin.
Die Teilnehmer beginnen mit einer Auftaktkundgebung unweit der Berliner Charité und ziehen mit Zwischenstopps am Bundesministerium für Gesundheit und dem Checkpoint Charlie nach Kreuzberg.
Der 12. Mai ist der jährliche "Internationale Tag der Pflegenden" (International Nurses Day). Dieser geht auf das Geburtsdatum der britischen Krankenschwester Florence Nightingale am 12. Mai 1820 zurück. Nightingale gilt als Begründerin der professionellen Krankenpflege.

After shooting a ton of group shots and pairings ambush-style by the main entrance, the crowds of people entering slowed down a bit and I had more time to look around for interesting shot locations. I moved these guys down here as I thought it would be more interesting
For the 2011 Gala, the event was held at Navy Pier. The venue is staggering when you first walk in. Perfect for a super wide angle lens or a fisheye. So I shot a few photos with the GoPro HD Hero camera and edited the colors in Lightroom.

Zum fünften Mal findet der CareSlam von Pflegekräften in Berlin statt. Beim einjährigen Geburtstag stehen insgesamt acht Menschen auf der Bühne des Kulturhauses Alte Feuerwache in Berlin Friedrichshain. Bei dem von Yvonne Falckner begründeten und organisierten Event treten diesmal der Präsident der Landespflegekammer Rheinland-Pfalz Dr. Markus Mai, der Journalist Daniel Drepper (correctiv) und zum zweiten Mal die Auszubildende in der Altenpflege Sabrina Maar auf. Zudem berichten die Krankenpfleger Lutz Müller-Bohlen und Stephan Gummert von ihrer Arbeit und Rosetta Ferrari, in ihrem zweiten Leben Hauskrankenpfleger(in), sorgt für musikalische Unterhaltung. Aus aktuellen, persönlichen, Gründen klären Yvonne Falckner und Marika Lazar über das Long QT Syndrom auf.
Der CareSlam verbindet Elemente das Poetry und Science Slam, jedoch ohne jegliche Wettbewerbskomponente, und gibt pflegenden Menschen die Möglichkeit sich auszudrücken, von ihrem Alltag zu berichten und Missstände anzusprechen.
Schirmherr der Veranstaltungsreihe ist Prof. Dr. rer. cur. Michael Bossle. Im Bild: Lutz Müller-Bohlen, Krankenpfleger und Fotograf.

Zum vierten Mal stehen in Berlin Friedrichshain in der "Alten Feuerwache" Pflegekräfte auf der Bühne, um in einem dem Poetry- bzw. ScienceSlam entlehnten Konzept über ihre Alltagssituationen und den Pflegenotstand in Deutschland zu berichten.
Den Beginn macht Achim Reichert, Altenpfleger, Lehrer für Pflegeberufe und Musiker mit seinem Slam: „Von Höcksken auf Stöcksken oder vom Konzept zum Gesetz“. Es folgt Corinna Seegert, examinierte Krankenschwester und stellvertretende Pflegedienstleitung mit ihrer musikalischen Einlage „I want get my disinfection“, zu der sie sich die Organisatorin Yvonne Falckner mit auf die Bühne holt. Die junge Esma Özdemir, Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegerin beeindruckt alle Anwesenden mit ihrer emotionalen und eindrücklichen „Eine Hommage an die Pflege“. Die Mitbegründerin und Organisatorin Yvonne Falckner gibt darauffolgend einen Überblick über das Wesen und die Entstehung des CareSlams. Katja Krebs, Künstlerin und freie Dozentin lässt die Puppen tanzen bzw. sprechen mit ihrem Slam: „Handpuppeneinsatz in der Demenzbetreuung".
Für die musikalische Begleitung dieser Veranstaltung sorgen die "Steinlandpiraten".

Zum siebten Mal findet der CareSlam in Berlin Friedrichshain statt.
Im Kulturhaus Alte Feuerwache werben acht Teilnehmer für eine bessere Pflege mit menschlichen Bedingungen sowohl für die Patienten, als auch für die Pflegenden.
Dieser CareSlam steht unter dem Eindruck des Internationalen Tages der Pflege der jährlich am Geburtstag von Florence Nightingale stattfindet. Dieses Jahr haben mehrere Initiativen einen bundesweiten Aktionstag in Berlin stattfinden lassen, um auf die dramatische Lage der Pflegelandschaft in Deutschland aufmerksam zu machen.
Als Abschluss des Aktionstages öffnet der CareSlam seine Bühne. Unter den Zuschauern ist auch Elisabeth Scharfenberg, MdB (Bündnis90/Die Grünen).
Die Initiatorin der an den Poetry Slam angelehnten Veranstaltungsreihe, Yvonne Falckner, führt durch den Abend. Als das böse, profitorientierte Gesicht der Pflege malträtiert sie die Auftretenden, wiegelt ab, beschönigt und schreddert eine Gefährdungsanzeige nach der anderen, die wieder und wieder auf der Bühne landen.
Der CareSlam beginnt mit einem Grußwort des Schirmherrn der Veranstaltung, Prof. Dr. Michael Bossle mit seiner Forderung "Hängt endlich die Uhren ab!". Dieses wird von Yvonne Falckner vorgetragen. Diesem folgt ein Slam von Yvonne Falckner, mit dem sie fordert, Resonanzräume zu schaffen.
Als nächstes kommt Dagmar Stegler, examinierte Krankenschwester, auf die Bühne. Berührend slammt sie über das Leben als Leasingschwester, von den Vorteilen, aber auch von Mobbing und Ausgrenzung.
Ihr folgt die Studentin der dualen Pflege Lena Herbrandt mit ihrem Slam "Braucht Ihr uns nicht?". Die erste Hälfte des CareSlams beschließt vor der Pause Cornelia Maria Zinke, examinierte Altenpflegerin und Pflegepädagogin mit ihrem Slam "Im Niemandsland des Theorie-Praxis-Transfers". Sie beschreibt die Widersprüchlichkeiten der Ausbildung und der Wissensvermittlung, aber auch die Ausbeutung und Überforderung von Auszubildenden.
Yvonne Falckner beginnt den zweiten Teil des CareSlams mit einer Einführung in chinesische Übungen, stets zu Lächeln, bevor Roger Konrad mit seinem Slam "Wir wollen nur pflegen oder worum geht's hier eigentlich?" übernimmt. Roger Konrad ist eaxaminierter Krankenpfleger und im Vorstand des Vereins "Pflege in Bewegung", sowie einer der Mitorganisatoren der "Bundesweiten Gefährdungsanzeige".
Zusammen mit Yvonne Falckner folgt Marcus Jogerst-Ratzka, examinierter Krankenpfleger und Pflegeunternehmer. Kafkaesk stellen sie im Slam "Prozess" den Widerspruch zwischen gesetzlichen Vorgaben und den Bedingen inder Pflegerealität dar.
Während Bühne und Publikum noch in den emotionalen Nachwirkungen des "Prozess" gefangen ist, betritt Florence Nightingale die Bühne. Es ist ja ihr Geburtstag. Eva Maria Endruweit, examinierte Krankenschwester und Lehrerin für Pflegeberufe, slammt als Nightingale eine zeitgemäße Version dessen was die Begründerin der modernen Pflege gesagt hat und vielleicht gesagt hätte - angesichts der Zustände der Pflege und der Welt.
Nun versammeln sich alle Slammer auf der Bühne, um im Chor den Text über die "heiligen Johannen der Pisstöpfe" zu verlesen.
Zum Abschluss des CareSlams slammt Dr. Markus Mai, Präsident der Pflegekammer Rheinland-Pfalz unter dem Titel "Wir stehen dafür!?" und fordert die Pflegenden auf, für ihre Interessen und Rechte einzustehen. Im Bild: Dr. Markus Mai, Präsident der Landespflegekammer Rheinland-Pfalz.

The 2016 edition of our annual Sick or Treat Charity Ball was held on October 28 at Doltone House, Hyde Park in Sydney!
It was a spectacular night and a fantastic end to our wonderful Sick or Treat campaign which ran all of October! Every year in Australia there are over 42,000 diagnoses of rare or less common cancers and around 24,000 deaths, but with your help we can change this and make sure people fighting rare cancers have access to the drugs and treatment they need.

Mehrere hundert Menschen, hauptsächlich Auszubildende aus den Pflegeberufen, beteiligen sich am 12.05.2019 am dritten "Walk of Care" in Berlin.
Die Protestierenden setzen sich für grundsätzliche Verbesserungen in Ausbildung und Arbeitsbedingungen in der Pflege ein und weisen auf die unmenschlichen und würdelosen Zustände im deutschen Gesundheitsbereich hin.
