The wire is the USB (host) connector of the headunit. USB mass storage devices (or iPods) connect here. I assume the Xilinx and the other chip are to host the USB.

Main (audio) board. I'm surprised by how packed this thing is. And how much capacitance they have on the 12 volts. The internal amp is the standard headunit style. I like the device heatsinking method, makes service easy.
