Pictures from the 2024 Weapons School Integration Training (WSINT) at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas
An unusually co-operative Red-tailed Hawk taking a break from tending to the juvenile who's not quite ready to be on his own, and sits in the trees nearby screaming non-stop for mom and dad to feed him.
While out shooting yesterday, this hawk flew onto this tree branch about 30 yards in front of me. He's at eye level because the tree is in a gully and I'm on a path right next to it. Pretty lucky! He didn't seemed to be bothered by me or the camera at all. I left before he did. =)

You'll notice that the spacers make the 35mm cartridge wider than the actual 620 spool, but i fixed that with some whittling.
Also, the rubber bands on the take-up spool probably aren't needed, but i had seen someone else do that with a Holga, so i figured it was a good idea.
Here's my latest pinhole camera. It's a 50's browonie box camera that was ready for the trash. Chips and cracks in the case. and dirty as could be.
I took out the plastic lens, (save that for a future lomo project!) and added a .4mm pinhole in its place. I then added a tripod mount to the bottom. Also I added a shutter release cable mount, and we're ready to shoot.
I usually don't post color shots, but I wanted to show off the teal front. I painted it so I could tell it from my other two Hawkeyes!
It shoots well and I'm extremely happy with the results.
Assembling The Avengers - Day 3: Hawkeye
In anticipation of the upcoming Avengers movie I started building some pieces to be displayed at my local comic shop on FCBD this Saturday. Even though I started these around the first of March, I've just managed to get them finished in time and snapped some photos with the help of my Wife.
I wrote an article on FBTB back in October about LEGO costuming and have been experimenting with it a great deal since then. I have many projects in the works and some will probably never be widely seen, but being a Marvel Zombie I could not miss this opportunity to create a tribute to some of my favourite Avengers.
Some info on Hawkeye's weapons from Marvel.com
Hawkeye he used bow and "trick" arrows such as: flares, explosives, putty, sonic blasts, buzz saws, electrical discharge, suction cups, tear gas, smoke bombs, bolas, nets, rockets, and boomerangs.
Thank you to my lovely Wife for taking these photos for me!
Just one more day to go...
