My painted Kodak Brownie Hawkeye cameras with the unpainted one in the middle. All the painted ones have the lens flipped and have been modified to take a 120 spool in the feed location. They all still need a 620 take-up spool. the unpainted one has been left original.
Former Santa Fe B40-8W 555 has been demoted to local service in Burlington Northern territory.
Faded to hell and with a BNSF replacement air conditioner, the Santa Fe image has seen better days.
Peace isn't sure about photography - at least with this camera. If he's going to stick with this hobby he's going to have to get a more modern camera - something that he doesn't have to stand on a rock to use!

Northern Hawk Owl, one of the least studied birds in North America due to its scarcity even in its normal range in remote boreal forests. Extremely rare sighting in Southern Ontario!
Seeing this Cooper's Hawk on a camera made me wonder, "Which bird of prey has the best vision?" I mean we hear terms like "Eagle-Eyed," and "Watched you like a Hawk." So which is it? Well both Hawks and Eagles have binocular vision meaning they can focus each eye independently based on light and subject. And both have better distance oriented vision than humans: 20/5 - 20/2 vision depending on species, meaning that they can see clearly from 40 to 100 feet what we can see from ten. Eagles are at the top of this ladder, and I think that many think because they can see farther they are the "winner." Not necessarily true. Eagles rely on scavenging for a great deal of their sustenance, so they need distance over acuity to seek food. However, Hawks' eyes are far more sensitive to light and color than Eagles (they both see color far better then we do) because they hunt far more, and most of their hunting is in the day time. Evolution has made the Hawk more adept at detecting motion and the Eagle better at seeing long distances. Of the two, when the sun gets lower in the sky, Eagles see better because the Hawks sensitivity is to brighter daytime light, and everything is a trade off. However, as one could guess, Owl's are the Kings of the Nighttime world.
Cedar Rapids and Iowa City GP9 100 was passing the old capital (behind the trees) and entered town with a long freight from Cedar Rapids.
Rolling through the campus of the University of Iowa, the Crandic freight was a great subject to chase in the summer months with the vintage EMDs providing the power.
Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 121 (VAW-121), also known as the "Bluetails", is an Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and Command and control (C2) squadron operating the E-2D Hawkeye based at NAS Norfolk. Currently a part of Carrier Air Wing 7, they deploy aboard USS Abraham Lincoln.

Clint Barton was orphaned at an early age when his parents died in a car accident and was sent to a children's home with his brother Bernard. He and his brother ran away to join the Carson Carnival of Traveling Wonders, and the pair worked as roustabouts. While a member of the circus, Hawkeye was trained by the original Swordsman (Jacques Duquesne) and Trickshot. Clint's life, however, would forever be changed after he stumbled onto the Swordsman counting the money he had just robbed from the carnival. The Swordsman offered Clint to become his partner in crime, but Clint rejected his mentor, sparking a fight that ended when the Swordsman left him for dead after he fell from the high wire. Barney, too, abandoned him, in disbelief that Clint passed up such an opportunity. Trickshot stepped up his role as Clint's mentor, later asking him to join him in raiding a criminal named Marko. However, Clint severely injured one of Marko's guards and discovered him to be his brother, Barney. Repelled by the consequences of his actions (and his mentor's role in prompting them), he abandoned Trickshot and parted on bad terms.
I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after a crazy couple of weeks (work deadlines, etc).
I felt like trying something different so I did this portrait of Hawkeye. My inspiration was the scene in the trailer where Hawkeye is outside and the sun is directly behind him. The Hawkeye minifigure doesn't come with a quiver, so I had to borrow one from another minifig :-)

A pair of Burlington Northern EMD SD70MACs had a coal load splitting a pair of old CB&Q searchlight signals on an April morning in 1996.
BNSF became official at the end of 1996 but many months prior to that nightmare becoming reality, Burlington Northern was going about its business in style.
