What do I do when the world around me is muted gray, and dull, and overcast, and flat, and the landscape feels like it's on hold?
Oh... if there was only a way to see in alternate color, and texture that begs for touch, and contrast, and layers of light and tone! A way to create my own mid-winter reality... to wander into it and explore.
Wait... of course there is! And today, this is what it looks like in my world...

I visited our Central Library weeks ago and I saw the smart seagulls again at the library square.
They are talking about “what is power”.

Pat O'Brien's was established in 1933 in St. Peter Street, New Orleans. The famous Hurricane drink was created mid 40s.
Pat was born 1894 Benson Harrison O'Brien in Tennessee, and his father of the same name was born 1848 in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, an Engineer, who had emigrated to Montreal in Canada by 1873.
Under the management of George Oechsner Jr., Pat O'Brien's quickly became the most popular bar in New Orleans.

Non-stop raining. Many people went to the shopping mall in this first weekend of 2010.
I was having lunch in Richmond Centre and took this "just for fun" long exposure picture in the food court. The auto white balance works well in D300.
Surprisingly you will find not so many people were moving during the 8 seconds exposure in the scene.
I forgot to mention that I did add on the ND400 neutral density filter which cuts down 9 stops of light and it allows me to use slower shutter speed.

Trauma de infância.
Eu tinha uns sete anos e estava no playcenter nas "Noites do Terror". Ainda não tinha uma parte reservada para crianças onde os "mostros" não iam.
Daí todo lugar que eu olhava tinha um monstro, e eu estava chorando muito, quando uma mulher fantasiada segurou minha mão e me levou até o camarim onde eles se arrumavam.
Nem preciso dizer que eu comecei a chorar mais quando vi aquela concentração de pesssoas com fantasias horripilantes, né?

New season starts Saturday!
The kid was playing large chess pieces at Minoru library. This is not due to visual perspective or distortion. The chess pieces are large ones i.e. like 4 -5 inches tall.
The kids treat them like toys. It is all about fun playing chess games. Don't be too serious!

Some of the Croatia tour participants heading out for some night shooting. Willie McElligott, our tour organizer and photographer extraordinaire puts on an amazing tour, and if you are looking for some interesting architecture, great light, fantastic food, and being at the right place at the right time, this tour is for you.
On a selfish note, I am going on a photo tour to Morocco this May and the organizer is looking for one more participant in order to make it happen. It will be a tour of a lifetime as Younes Bounhar the organizer has intimate knowledge of the country and will guide us on a beautify journey. The price is right as it includes all meals, accommodations, and logistics. Even includes a camel ride in the sand dunes to what should be an amazing photo experience. Hope one of my contacts is interested, because as I said, selflessly I really want to go.

Lóóóóóóógico que eu ia usar um dos lançamentos, né?!? E o escolhido pra hoje foi o Under the Sea, da coleção Pequena Sereia! Ele é um mix de glitters nas cores azul turquesa holográfico e coral mate. Lindíssimo!!!!! Eu resolvi usar com um turquesa como base, o Have Fun, quase da cor dos glitters azuis. E ficou mto bonito, mas acabei me arrependendo... Da próxima vez vou usar com um azul clarinho pro glitter azul ganhar mais destaque.

We had a two-day summer camp in August. Got to complete several tasks during the days, such as randomly given the bible stories. What we receive was "last Supper".
I'll drink to that (with lunch!). Considering, shopping, DE-flation, holiday expectations, retirement, lowered expectations for retirement, ..... and the list goes on, here's a perfect thought for the day! Hmmm, after doing my morning Christmas shopping I may just remember that when I have lunch! Hope your Friday is FABULOUS!
