A beautifully designed concert hall in the capital city of Reykjavik, Iceland, against a beautiful twilight.
A rainbow appears during a rare appearance of the sun in Reykjavik, Iceland as the Sun Voyager glistens in the rain.
Another variant on this view of the atrium of the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. It's interesting to note (to me anyway......) that by taking this in landscape format the emphasis of the shot changes and it becomes less about the height of the space and more about the facetted glass facade the the views of the city beyond.

From Wikipedia : "Harpa is a concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavík, Iceland. The opening concert was held on May 4, 2011.
Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours. The building was originally part of a redevelopment of the Austurhöfn area dubbed World Trade Center Reykjavík, which was partially abandoned when the financial crisis took hold. The development was intended to include a 400-room hotel, luxury apartments, retail units, restaurants, a car park and the new headquarters of Icelandic bank Landsbanki.
The completion of the structure was uncertain until the government decided in 2008 to fully fund the rest of the construction costs for the half-built concert hall. For several years it was the only construction project in existence in Iceland. The building was given its name on the Day of Icelandic Music on 11 December 2009, prior to which it was called The Reykjavík Concert Hall and Conference Centre (Icelandic: Tónlistar- og ráðstefnuhúsið í Reykjavík). The building is the first purpose-built concert hall in Reykjavík. It houses the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the offices of The Icelandic Opera."

I had hoped to get some shots with the sun streaming through the multi-layered facade of the Harpa Concert Hall but as it turned out all we had was rain. I thought maybe a mono conversion would help with the tricky issue of mixed lighting in addition to making it more about the strong lines created by the staircase.

Inside the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Reykjavík, Iceland.

The building was inspired by Iceland's columnar basalt landscape and by the colour of old ice I suspect. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours.
The last (for now) of my 2015 archive revisits and just like a slide, upside down and back to front ;)

This shot of the interior of the Harpa atrium is a bit cleaner and simpler that the version uploaded yesterday. Part of me quite likes the complexity of the version below as it suits the architecture.
