It was worth the hard work! Now I'm not embarrassed when people walk up to our home. It's a modest little flower bed. Some of those plants grew to be 5 feet tall. Not to mention the 9 foot sunflowers that popped up as well. No pictures of that though, sadly.

Ratna Prasad Prajapati, the owner of KP Brick Industry, invited me for tea and told me how he started small 30 years ago and now employs 400 men and women to produce high-quality bricks. He said the cheap competition from China and India makes life difficult for them. Could I take photos on the premises? A good thing about macro photography is to challenge your self "to capture a moving subject like this one.

i think this is perhaps my favourite colour from the whole spectrum. it is alive, sharp, light, welcoming and uplifting. if i look at it for long enough it makes me think i've eaten something nice. the rose grows through my hedge in the small yard i have. it has thrown out a dozen flowers every year for the last 20 years to my knowledge.competing with a 5 foot wicker style fence and an evergreen hedge 2" thick. never gets fed, never gets watered, never gets pruned. just gets trimmed back twice a year with the shears. still it produces intensity. science and nature do all the hardwork and i am endowed with the resultant beauty.
