These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external harddrive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.

Please feel free to leave any comments or thoughts or impressions... They are happily appreciated!

Crazy Tuesday, Transport

Dont get something new on my harddrive lately, so processed some older shots. These fine mountains certainly one of my favorites.

Thanks for looking ; )

museumsinsel. berlin. germany.

this image was hidden inside the ever confusing depths of my harddrive. found it yesterday and thought i would try b&w on it. well, i guess it´s never too late to look over one´s older stuff. might find a hidden treasure now and then. thanks for looking :)

I had to dismantle a laptop recently so took the opportunity to harvest some bits. The inner workings of a HDD have always fascinated me. How the arm dances across the spinning disk reading and writing information is mind boggling! Of course, these are now old school with the advent of the SSD. Altogether more reliable but less appealing in an image.

I've just completed a user review for the StreetWalker HD on my Blog. Check it out here if you're interested in the bag :-)

245/365,

Replaced a much larger portable hard drive that stopped working.

My Google Pixel 5 cell phone is there for comparison.

You are looking at the inside of a 2.5 inch magnetic hard disk drive. The magnetic head is under the actuator arm close to that needle looking point.

Normally everything you see is inside a vacuum enclosure. This particular hard drive has a bad actuator arm and clicks continuously when it is powered up. About the only thing it is good for is a Flickr photo.

I took this scenery about 2 1/2 years ago. If you follow me, it´s the same "base" scenery as "the hermit". After finishing the first scene, i had the idea to place 3 mage´s in a half circle. The orb, vision ball, call it like you want was made of some strokes of my headlamp. Sometimes images lay on my harddrive like this one, waiting for completion. Today i had the lust to finish this scenery. :-) Thousand thanks goes to Gina for this experiance in the bavarian forest at night. She also stands for the three mage´s.

Grabbed another image from the archives on a harddrive for the theme of vintage.

Taken at the Singer Castle located in the Thousand Islands. A vintage Singer Sewing Machine.

Thanks so much for your visit to my little space here on Flickr.

Another old shot I found on my backup harddrive,.

Have a great one folks!

Take a chance, push the "L" on your keyboard :-)

Trying to clean out the harddrive, so lots of images from last year to do.

Thanks to all who stop to look and comment. I will be sure to look at your photostream and leave a comment.

I said my last post was going to be my final post of the GGB but I have this one sitting in my Harddrive for a few weeks now and I might as well post it to my stream. I kind of like the combination of the lights and also some early burn in the sky during this blue Hour scene. This is a one minute long exposure shot in almost pitch dark and not close of being perfect but I kind of like it. Mahalo

LR-8175 - Been a bit busy over the last few days, so one from the harddrive.

I can't get enough of them... their world is so full of magic.

Now there are a lot of these moss-photos waiting on my harddrive to upload... :)

New minolta slr, wanted to run a film through it. So feeling like a real hipster (with an old slr I got off ebay), I organized all my stuff neatly on my floor and took a snap of it. It's so cliche but i guess it's cliche'd cos it works. Would love some film for those polaroid cameras again.

After having lost my complete gear a few weeks ago I struggle getting back my motivation. Seems that it was in my stolen backpack as well. So here one from my harddrive from Norway in February 2015

i recently learned that world famous photographer Mike Jones has lost photos, which he took during this fall season. what a bummer. but now this can happen to anyone and anytime. computers will crash and hard disk will fail. what should we do then? how many times and how often we should back up. what happens when that back up drive just becomes a brick where we have been saving years worth of photos? a nightmare scenario but worth a thought. Any input is highly appreciated.

my photos are available on my website .

I needed more backup storage for all my wonderful photos. :-)

I decided to buy this Toshiba 500 GB external hard drive. Technology advancements always amaze me, especially when it comes to electronics. This sweet package is only 5x3x0.5". 500 GB for only $80!

At Tunxis Community College in Farmington, CT.

This one has been hanging out on my harddrive for ~11 months.

Hope you like it!

Old Shot from Photokina 2016 of Pala lighting up Kim and Astrobandit, with his firework wizardry, just found it on the harddrive as i was having a clear out.

Another shot from a while ago just found whilst trawling the harddrive looking for old pics id missed to edit

Done for the Macro Monday theme, "Technology."

For a lot of years the hard drive spinning at 5400 RPM was the standard in laptops and netbooks. This is a Seagate 2-1/2 inch, 160 GB hard drive from a 10-inch Asus netbook.

One PC in our household has already been upgraded to the faster and more efficient SSD or Solid State Drive. Ah, technology... Happy Macro Monday!

An old shot that has been sitting on the harddrive. I wasn't sure how to get the best out of this one and still not but decided to keep it simple with the sliders in lightroom.

It was quite a dramatic sunset just before a storm rolled in the following day, for several evenings after there were quite spectacular sunsets

Here is an old film scan (Jan18 scan) of Stacey :)

My harddrive with all my 2019 scans on is not responding so hopefully I can fix it.

This is a closeup of my old harddrive showing its components and PCB.

this has been on my harddrive since March. I've never had the time or the energy to start editing. It was the most difficult thing I've ever tried to achieve in Photoshop and I'm actually quite happy how the dress turned out.

maybe you've already seen this on The Portfolio. It was featured exclusively & if you're interested in reading the interview - here you go :)

The editing of this was really inspired by Sarah Haley and Brooke Shaden <3

I took this shot a long time ago with my old 50D and the kit lens, just stumbled upon it today while cleaning my harddrive....Obviously had even less idea about landscape shots back in 2011 than today but mother nature had mercy and produced these colors that look spectacular even on an ow average photo ;)

200/365

Had a mega sleep in today and don't have time for a photo unfortunately D: I finally found a harddrive of photos that I lost for about a month, so I'm currently going through them and editing like crazy for the rest of the night! Here's another one of Grainne from about a month ago! :) Finally into the 200's, didn't think I'd make it this far in the 365, woooo.

Somedays are diamonds, had lost many images of the centre only the few I had processed on the track could I find so locating the misplaced files on a portable harddrive I had overlooked was delighted to recover a lot of the missing images. This is a three frame stitch.

This is Glen Helen Gorge on the Finke River in the central desert lands of Australia. The Finke River is one of the largest rivers in central Australia. Its source is in the Northern Territory's MacDonnell Ranges, and the name Finke River is first applied at the confluence of the Davenport and Ormiston Creeks, just north of Glen Helen. From here the river meanders for approximately 600 km to the western edge of the Simpson Desert in northern South Australia. Usually the river is a string of waterholes, but it can become a raging torrent during rare flood events. In extreme events, water from the Finke River flows into the Macumba River, and thence into Lake Eyre, a total distance from headwater streams of around 750 km. Major tributaries include Ellery Creek, and the Palmer and Hugh Rivers. The Finke River flows through the West MacDonnell and Finke Gorge National Parks.

The Finke River was named by John McDouall Stuart in 1860 after an Adelaide man, William Finke, who was one of the promoters of his expedition. The indigenous name for the river in parts of the Northern Territory is Larapinta, which lends its name to Larapinta Drive, which runs west from Alice Springs, and the Larapinta walking trail. Glen Helen was formally a cattle station but is now a tourist resort that caters to visitors that want to truly immerse themselves in the West Macs. Part of the former Glen Helen Station still exists, west of Redbank Gorge.

The permanent waterhole at Glen Helen Gorge is home to many species of animals, including a variety of water birds and fish.

For the traditional owners of the land though this inviting swimming spot is off limits. They believe it is the home of an ancient and powerful Rainbow Serpent.

The landscape around Glen Helen is as spectacular with a towering sandstone wall greeting you, lighting up so red in the early and late sunlight

I am correcting exams and moving files to my external harddrive and deleting a few before i move them and adding a few to flickr and just the usual multi-tasking...not sure if I uploaded ths one before but it is a little stream nearby that always seem to be full of water..this one is taken crouching on the little bridge that crosses the stream..I would love to have some big high boots so i could try a shot from a lower perspective..but I am also afraid of slipping and dunking my camera... :-)

I found a few more shots in a dark corner of my harddrive. Phase 2 - current loft. I never really took any good photos of it. Sorry about the lighting, Photoshop can only do so much. If it doesn't look like it came from the thrift store, I probably made it.

Visiting Stockholm on June 25, 2016.

Was searching for some other pictures on the harddrive when I notice that I have not uploaded any photos from this evening, just after Midsummer last year.
