Today I decided to revisit some shots from last year that I didn't past at the time

Follow Me

by Michelle Newton

Take my hand and follow me

to that place I long to be.

Take my hand and trust my way,

in that place forever stay.

Follow me toward the sand;

we'll run and play, hand in hand.

Take my heart and hold it true;

forever I'll stay close to you.

Seize my words and listen well,

then forever I will tell.

Release your heart and feelings too,

just as I will do for you.

Trust your heart and follow me,

to that place we long to be.

I don't tire of the view from the roof of the M Shed and the brilliant Moved by Conflict Exhibition (Bristol during the Great War) took me up that way last week. Kaskelot in front of the Lloyds building to the left, Cathedral basking in the sun to the right.

I like this one of the Fog Bridge because it also features the jaunty Bristol Ferry. The background view looking up towards the Cathedral with the afternoon sun on it is an added bonus.

I've really missed ambling around the harbourside, looking at the various marine craft and catching the odd reflection

Another bonkers moment!

Taken into the sunlight, at Bristol Harbour. The silhouettes are the famous landmarks of the area, the old cranes dating back to the 50's trading heyday ,are the last of the 40 cranes that were located on the quayside.On the right are the masts and rigging of SS Great Britain, a former passenger steamship,dating back to 1845 to 1854 when it was the longest in the world. The ship is now a museum ship and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Nestled between the two was the Fire Brigade's latest high-tech piece of equipment that was being put through it's paces. This was what caught my attention,and provided a temporary addition to the city's skyline.

A winter evening at Bristol harbourside

...small local fishing boats moor next to yachts and superyachts on the town quay in Portoferraio on the Tuscan island of Elba, Italy.

Bristol harbour in 14th century was a central point of trade between Spain, Portugal and Iceland and the last port which ships used before leaving in search of the New World, some never to be seen again. During 1809 work started to construct the floating harbour and overcome the issues the second highest tidal range in the world. At the present day the harbour is a vibrant place with Sunday markets, restaurants, bars, shops and many sports and activities such as rowing, kayaking, yachting and paddle boarding.

This was one of my first attempts at long exposure photography. Thanks to Storm Doris for making it painfully cold.

As always any constructive criticism is appreciated!

As you can see Isa Lei was one of the smaller visiting yachts the harbour that night.

It's a very picturesque harbour with a fine selection of little shops selling locally produced goods; so I couldn't resist popping into the local deli and purchasing a selection of Lugurian hams and local cheeses together with a bottle of a locally produced white wine.

I enjoyed my supper that evening....ahh, the pleasure of cruising in Italian waters.......

Taken from the old swing bridge looking down the channel as the sun slowly sets casting a golden glow over the water.
