Wild Turmeric (Curcuma aromatica) is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae.
Wild tumeric is an aromatic and pretty ginger with stout underground rhizomes. Foliage dies down in late in autumn and the rhizomes remain dormant in winter. The inflorescence appears in early spring from the base of the rhizome. Flowers are pinkish white in color, with an orange lip. The stalk grows to about 8 to 10 inches tall, and is crowned with enlarged colored bracts tipped with pink. Leaves appear after the flowers. When in full growth the plants can reach a height of about 3ft tall. Leaves are broad and very decorative, elliptic, 3-4 ft long, and 20 cm wide, leaf-stalk being as long as the blade. Turmeric has a long tradition of use in the Chinese and Ayurvedic systems of medicine, particularly as an anti-inflammatory agent, and for the treatment of flatulence, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, hematuria, hemorrhage, and colic. Turmeric can also be applied topically in poultices to relieve pain and inflammation.

She and the flag were both made in the USA. Shizandra was born in Grants, NM on an Apache Reservation. She lived in a Shelter for a while then we took her in and the rest is history. So happy to have her in our lives!

This photo was taken at Coeur D' Alene Lake on July 4th. The firework is probably the best of all we get around Spokane. Especially Lake and Firework makes a perfect recreational spot.

This picture is a merge of three different photos. Each of the fireworks is a total different picture. I just used the layer maks to reveal what is underneath. This photo was taken with 18-105mm Nikon Lens. It was taken in RAW format and has been post processed with PS CC 2015. No filters used.

Happy 4th of July everyone! Er... for those in the United States that is. Well even if you're not from the US Happy 4th to you too! Anyways, today is the day that we declared our independence from Great Britain. I watched this really cool special on youtube about the various aspects of this great holiday and learned a few things. It's pretty cool. I'll link you to it at the end.
So for all you Americans out there, live free because that's what we fought for all those years ago. Salute a veteran, hug your family, remember and reflect on the sacrifices made to protect our freedom. Be independent. Enjoy your day and don't forget to 'splode something =P

I hope you're all having an amazing Independence Day! 🎉 Today, I had the incredible opportunity to witness the Marin Country Fair Fireworks for the very first time, and let me tell you, it was absolutely breathtaking! 😍🌟
The highlight of the evening was definitely the mesmerizing reflection of the fireworks on the waterfront. The combination of vibrant colors and shimmering waters created a scene straight out of a fairytale! 🌊✨ Being there in person was truly a magical experience that words simply cannot capture.
I wanted to share a couple of snapshots I managed to capture of this spectacular display with all of you. 🌌 Take a look and feel the awe and wonder that filled the air last night. I hope they bring a smile to your face and ignite a sense of patriotic pride in your hearts. ❤️💙

As the chalk board states, Happy 4th of July. 4th of July has been my favorite holiday for many years, but suddenly I've decided it isn't. I don't like being anywhere near fireworks since the one attacked me. But anyways, I'm going to be out almost all day so, this had to be done now or never.

Thousands of people gathered in England on Sept. 01, 2015, for a unique, competition that would make Paul Jaisini proud.The Gleitzeit Flower Parade, a very unique competition of giant flowery floats. This year, 9 floats each paid tribute to Paul Jaisini. According to GBartpress.uk, the floats can be 73 feet long and 30 feet high, containing 300,000 flowers.

This fireworks display was from the Marin County Fair last night. It was an amazing experience to see it with the waterfront reflection. They will have fireworks every night until Sunday. Please come by to see it in person—I highly recommend this location to watch fireworks.
