For some reason, this and a couple of other pics came out really dark and grainy (I probably screwed up a setting or two again). But, instead of trying to fix it or even trash the pic, I decided to go with it.

After a rainy day the storm clouds started breaking up just before sunset. I gotta love it when that happens...
That you dream away while looking at a picture. And when you wake up you find yourself back in the middle of an incredible romantic mood...
**it happens...
Let It Happen
It's always around me, all this noise
But not nearly as loud as the voice saying
"Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good)
Just let it happen, let it happen"
It's gonna feel so good
All this running around
Trying to cover my shadow
A notion growing inside
Now all the others seem shallow
All this running around
Bearing down on my shoulders
I can hear an alarm
It must be morning
I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round
It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound
And when it happens, when it happens (I won't be holding on)
So let it happen, let it happen
It's gonna feel so good
It's gonna feel so good
All this running around
I can't fight it much longer
Something's trying to get out
And it's never been closer
If my takeoff fails
Make up some other story
But if I never come back
Tell my mother I'm sorry
What happens if a photographer discovers and develops his own style and starts repeating technique and motives? Is it becoming boring or does the work gain more depth? You find a new article with reflections about photographic style on the website.

The first Monday of October is World Day of Bullying Prevention. This happens in schools, online, and even here on Flickr and SL. This post was inspired by Dax's song Joker.
So what's your excuse, what helps you sleep?
You leave a negative comment
Not knowing that what you sow, you will reap
I bet you smile when you post, thinking you're hurting me
But you see the way the brain works
You become what you speak
I need peace, but y'all can't offer that
I held my ground, I didn't sell my soul
I said f the fame, y'all can't take that offer back
F a shelf, you can't take me off the rack
All the fame is not worth a heart attack
You're insane, you're in pain, I can tell by what you're saying
But my bad, I forgot you were fragile
I forgot someone who doesn't even know me told you I'm an ahole
I forgot that I'm a villain
I forgot that I've always spread positivity, but you think I didn't
I forgot that hatred stems from people who hate their own existence
I forgot I'm better off alone
I forgot I care for everyone's happiness, but forget about my own
I forget I spend every waking second on my phone-
Come join my circus, I'm recruiting
I'm taking everyone who passes judgement
Bitch, that's including everyone who thinks it's so amusing
To put me down while I'm pursuing
The keyboard warriors that live online
Behind a screen that's just an illusion
Come, come, come, come join my circus
the magical winter and the snowfall that is out of a fairy tale has landed...the day I have left....give me a bucket to cry into!!
A male Peregrine Falcon giving his mate a small bird.
This happens during mating season, a male gives his mate a treat.
Or during nesting time when daddy gives food to mom for feeding the chicks as in this photo.
It also happens between adults to their juveniles for training purpose.
I'm not exactly sure what happened here. This Indigo Bunting dove at a cluster of wild grape flowers and produced a spray of flower parts and water from a recent rain, but there is also a beetle flying above his head-- perhaps his target? It's an odd scene. Weldon Spring Conservation Area
I was drawing the curtains when I accidentally broke off one of the flowers from my amaryllis plant. I didn't want to throw it away so I put it in one of my little "casualty" pots, where it bloomed happily for just as long as if it had still been attached to the main stem - HMBT!
Cats does not like stormy weather, but when everything had calmed down Bastian ventured out to inspect the damage from storm Hans. He clearly wondered what had happened to his butterfly bush...

Caca pasa. I was playing around with some of the settings in my camera's menu and accidentally turned on multiple exposures. Didn't realize it until I went to my son and daughter-in-law's place a couple of days later for a "Tea, Pumpkin Carving and Games" party. My first 3 shots got combined into one triple exposure. Kind of a ghostly image, just in time for Halloween. Sometimes, mistakes can make for an interesting image.

Not sure what happened here. I was shooting for my Primordial Soup (because it sounds much better than pond scum) collection and ended up with this. But it worked. Converting to B&W helped.

So this happened last night.
I was on my way to a neighboring town and, luckily, I had my camera with me!
I happened upon this great grey owl in a location I hadn't seen one previously, perched up high in a tree. Not ideal, but I got out of the car and tried to get a decent photo. Nothing. Eventually, it flew across the road and perched on a fence post with its back to the bright sun. Typically, not ideal. However, the background was a line of frost and snow covered willow shrubs, and the crystals were melting in the warming sun, creating very bright highlights all over.
When photographed, but not in focus, those spectral highlights become discs of brighter light which are called 'circles of confusion'. Of course, bokeh is the out of focus portions of a photo. Hence the long and cryptic title. Hope you enjoy the image. Like the owl, I'm still on the fence about it.
and might happen in front of my camera. However, when I get there, it is no longer on such a rational level. I like to be very loose. I don't plan my pictures. I let myself go. I use the real world as my text but my unconscious as my guide :-)

This happened on a cliff over the Pacific Ocean, on an overcast morning.
It was unclear whether the Peregrine Falcon really wanted to capture the squirrel or she just made a warning: don't get near my babies. The good news is the squirrel lived and ran away.
Peregrine Falcons don't really like to eat mammals, they eat mainly birds. However, this same female Peregrine Falcon had caught a squirrel at this location couple years ago as can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/john_n_hoang/51228127733/in/datepos...

The Lazuli Bunting is one of the prettiest birds.. and I rarely get a chance to get a decent photograph. Happened across this one along the lower stretches of Beaver Lake Road.
It so happens / that you drive the road / between S and A / and someone / put up / a wildlife crossing.
Het gaat zo: / je rijdt op de weg / van S naar A / en iemand / heeft er / een wildviaduct / neergelegd.

More poses from this common Whitethroat as i was walking towards him a couple of days ago. Not often this happens :-)
Yet another small bird from the thicket mentioned previously.
Yellow-faced honeyeater, Callum Brae, ACT, 2015.
Discussion on a thicket that happens to be a niche favoured by small birds was commenced under this image:
www.flickr.com/photos/94803194@N08/16107780300/in/photost...
This thicket is in danger of being cleared in the near future.
I have put all the photos I have taken in this corner of Callum Brae into a single album. Of course hundreds of other photos from the same location failed to make the cut on to my hard drive.
The supermoon on the 30th August (last Wednesday) started being visible just on the side of the Sanctuary of Christ the King (“Cristo-Rei”), located on the south bank of the Tagus River.
This shot was taken from the north bank (Lisbon) at a distance of about 4km.
The clouds disappeared just before the moon rise, but the wind remained, which didn't help the image's sharpness.
