Great Egret
Seems to be waiting for something to happen while standing in the early morning light streaming over the ocean and sand.
From the National Park Service:
Second only to the Great Blue Heron in size, the Great Egret (Casmerodius albus), sometimes called the Great White Egret, is one of the largest of the wading birds that inhabit the Everglades. Standing over 4 feet in height with a wingspan of more than 50 inches, it is similar in appearance to the Snowy Egret but can be distinguished by its long black legs, black feet, stout yellow bill, and tremendous size. The Snowy Egret is smaller than the Great Egret and has a black bill and yellow feet.
Although numbers of Great Egrets have recovered throughout most of the United States in response to conservation measures, numbers have declined in some parts of the southern United States because of habitat loss. Data indicate that the Florida Everglades has undergone a 90-percent reduction in the number of breeding pairs of wading birds.
Our Alfie🐈 is today (Sunday August 1th 2021) in urgently,
operated on a bladder obstruction due to bladder stones.
I do hope he will survive 🙏 He is strong but has also 12 years.

Just happened to look out my window and saw this golden light reflecting on our building. Four minutes later and it was gone.
When the grandkids come over and want chocolate, give them the cheap stuff. Otherwise, this is what happens.

I just happened to see her in hay field by edge of my yard.
I managed to quickly open door and call to her as she looked around a got a few shots before she walked to woods in background. Shortly after this day she gave birth to two beautiful fawns. I have seen them nearly a hundred times now. I used to keep account but finally gave up!!! :-)
Sometimes you just happen to wander through a scene looking for another scene, a quick sideways glance told me this was a much better shot than the back of the Schloss.
This was taken from a little bridge, really a culvert crossing between the back of the Schloss and the golf course a little oasis of serenity happened quite by chance or maybe the fates have put it in my path for a reason like capturing a perfect moment in time at least to me :).
In my mind I will forever be sitting at the little table on this patio enjoying a glass of very good wine watching the ducks, geese and swans with a cacophony of peacocks somehow serenading you in this shady peaceful setting.
This handsome chocolate box cottage on the moat tributary, is most likely the golf course owners or family getaway versus the greenskeepers but I like to imagine it is a perk that befits the person that maintains these lovely spotless grounds and course.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens at 46mm 1/20s, f/11 ISO 100 processed in LR, Topaz Denoise, PS (Lumenzia and DXO Nik Color Efex)

This view of San Marco Square never happens except at 5:00 am in March when the lights are still on and the only visitors are a couple of photographers hauling their tripods around. What a sight this is!
Thanks to the direction of our kind friend Maurizio Fecchio who told us how to get this view. The first morning he took us here was heavy fog and while I got a couple of unique moody captures, we came back 2 days later and got this. This was despite severe jet lag and a 4:00am rise.

I have no idea what happened to cause such a scene but they sure are cute!
From what I gather so far, this seems like the typical swallow scene: there's always one screaming at another, one reacting to the scream and there's always at least one that looks indifferent to the happenings. They're so entertaining!
