Lariat - rhodium chain maille & flat labradorite briolettes and one rectangle labradorite stone. Chain maille is a series of loops along both sides of the chain giving it a soft chunky look. I didn't want to embellish the chain which should be admired as it is so I created this lariat style necklace with a centredrop.

Note the felt lining. This 9" x 6" x 3" “executive desktop box” is my first attempt at a “bandsaw box”. Sandwiched between a walnut front and back are laminated layers of pine and plywood. (I didn’t want to risk expensive exotic woods on my first attempt!) Six coats of boiled linseed oil were followed by four coats of wiping varnish (polyurethane plus boiled linseed oil). Finally, two coats of microcrystalline wax were applied. The box was handcrafted as a Christmas gift to my son who helped me move my new (and heavy) bandsaw into the basement.
The cheaters. I bought the flower cut-outs at Michael's and put them together to make flowers.
