My thesis project, I researched the pattern from paintings. I designed and drew the pattern, and built the courset by cutting over 50 steel bones to specific sizes, sewing traditional coutil, and installing over 30 eyelets with a traditional grommet press.
The shade and box on the base were handcrafted by me. The shade is made from 100% cotton and styrene applied to a hexigon frame and the box is made from book binder board and covered in the same fabric. The base was made by my husband.

I made this on commission for a guy called Erik.
To personalize it, I put the starsigns of him, his wife and daughter on the dial.

Like carrying your money in a leather wallet, but like the convenience of a money clip? This is the best of both worlds!
This money clip was hand dyed a rich brown and then sealed with a sealant to protect it for many years to come. A strong magnet was attached, before adding a dark brown lining leather. The two pieces of leather were hand sewn together using waxed brown thread
Measures 3"x 2" (7.6cm x 5.1cm) closed. Easily fits in a pocket or purse to securely hold currency.

Well, I believe I posted this a few years ago, but I thought I'd take a new image back in the late summer and post it again. Lol, you can also see some spiderwebs (it's up high over the door).
This was a touristy gift from a co-worker (I umm told him he owed me) after he took six weeks off to go to the Ukraine and left me hanging oncall the whole time.
I have news...I sold a bison calf and herd shot today to a company publishing a biology textbook. While not truly substantial, it'll be a the most I've ever made on a photo.
Once the agreements are signed, I'll post a re-processed (I've learned stuff since 2008) image of what I sold.
One day we woke up and decided to craft, Barbara and I, our own notepads.
