My favorite tool. The multi-tool. I can probably do 80% of the jobs I have that require a tool with a good multi-tool. It saves me from scrambling through the house looking for the right screw driver, etc.
This photo is a bit of a change of pace for me. I normally don’t do B&W but the subject seemed perfect for B&W. I also usually go for sharp focusing from end to end, but thought the cascade of different tools would look good going out of focus. I also didn’t clean my subject because it is, well, a tool and gets dirty.
HMM!
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated.
Do you use tools?
Do you pick them up when you done?
Do you leave them out to continue work at a later time?

A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Hand tool". The worm screw on a wrench takes on a different appearance seen with the macro lens.
This drill bit has some special meaning. My son-in-law received many of his grandfather's tools when he passed in his 90s. His grandfather was a tool maker and this bit has his last name on it-ROSER. Although you can't see it the other side has the year it was made, 1943. I have posted some other pics of it on my page.

Wonderful theme this week because I love tools.
I made two series of pictures, which is not very smart because now I have to make a choice, which one to upload; the foldable scissors or the vernier caliper?
I think the scissors are funny, the vernier caliper looks more professional.

Mini eye-glass repair kit. Screws so tiny they give you a mini magnifying glass!
My entry for today’s CrAzY TuEsDaY. Theme Hand Tools. Ironically this is an electric manicuring tool I used for manicures, pedicures and most of all acrylic and other types of artificial nails.

A necessity for a New England Winter, this hand tool has gotten a lot of use this winter and now... early spring.

Wire cutters are hand tools which snip wire easily. These are small as they are designed for jewelry making. The wire adds context.
A little context for this one -- a few weeks ago I posted a macro of the Sony radio that I used when I was deployed to the Persian Gulf War in 1990-91, with the Navy at Fleet Hospital Five. This Swiss Army Knife was on my belt every day and got all sorts of uses -- opening packages and letters, cutting cords, repair of everything from eyeglasses to medical equipment, opening bottles and cans, sawing and scissoring -- a real workhorse. And, of course, it is a hand tool -- perfect for this week's theme. I liked the mono version better after I played with it. BTW, that magnifying glass was also useful when examining rashes on my patients. HMM!

Was digging in my garden and found this about 6 inches below the surface. Not sure if mine!. Zoom in to see details.

If brute force doesn't work...
This is the well known emergency tool "Bone". I would love to write "Made in China" but unfortunately it's brand new and Made in Germany. I broke it when trying to open the axle screw as we had our first flat tyre in the middle of nowhere.

An assortment of woodworking hand tools for 117 pictures in 2017. This is #23, In or From the tool box. From the top is part of the blade of a dovetail saw, a scratch awl (for marking lines), a square (used to guide a scratch awl or pencil), a chisel, and a low angle block plane, all sitting on a plank of maple.

Watchmaker, watchmaker, make me a watch
Make time go slower but never let it stop
And speed up the ticking when the going gets rough,
'Cause to me all this trying it'll never be enough.

A Steve Knight smoother. This plane is one of my favorites. Steve made it himself. Last I heard, you can only buy kits from him now. His web site stinks, though.
For those of you that don't know much about woodworking, these are handplanes that are used for surfacing wood by hand instead of with loud noisy dust-producing machines.

Learning the proper use of this hand tool may help to ease the stress and fatigue that can be caused by the overuse of other hand tools.
This is what happens if you leave your trowel in the garden and completely forget about it.
Crazy Tuesday, Hand tools
We silly quilters call it "Frogging"!! When we make a stitching error and it has to be torn out and done again, we "Frog It" ( You know, " Rip it, Rip it!!!" ) More correctly, this is called a stitch ripper. It is SOO much safer and easier to use than scissors. Macro Mondays' prompt this week is Hand Tools. HMM!
THANKS TO ALL WHO "FAVED" AND COMMENTED. YOU ARE ALL VERY KIND! HMM
