This adorable shelf I just got at the nun's thrift store a couple weeks ago! It's a mirror and the shelf has white picket fencing around it. I've got to clean the dust off and stabilize it, because it's made out of cheap particleboard and the shelf "wiggles" due to only being attached to the mirror by staples.

At first, I was afraid that the colours were way too bright and that there wasn't enough white to counterbalance that, but I quite like the yarn after all. The colour produced where the pink and grey meet is really nice.
I bought these while thrifting. (These may be iffy for the housewares shaped like food pool, as it is debatable what kind of mushrooms these are....)
A concept sketch is always the first step when creating a new pair of hand painted shoes. Sketch is rather rough. It helps to grasp an idea and to explore design options.
Far right sketch: the hummingbird and the owl featured on the sides of the shoes.
The first workshop I took at the MI Fiber Festival was the handpainting class. It was loads of fun, and I was very pleased with the results, shown here. The colors I used were Country Classic's: Persimmon, Chestnut, and Desert Sand. The yarn is from Henry's Attic (Kona), a superwash merino sock yarn, but I'll probably turn this into a stocking cap.
