... for the Carnation. It's Act I for the button because it's the first time I've photographed it. :)
The button is French and dates from the 1900s. It's hand painted and has areas of both champlevé and guilloché enamel.
This is the "Bishop" from my brother's Cowboys & Indians chess game that he made years ago. He took some of his childhood plastic Cowboys & Indians, handpainted them, and set them on a chessboard that he also made in his woodshop. The pieces are 3 inches tall, with the exception of the "Knights" and the "Castles" which are taller. And since it was rainy/snowy on Thanksgiving Day, I set him in a potted plant near the window.

My artistic nephew painted the masks himself to co-ordinate with the costumes. He is so talented. In addition to drawing and painting, he carves, and makes jewellery. Each time he visits he has someting new to show me....

This rabbit was acquired on a trip to India. Today seemed a good occasion to photograph and share it. (Now, I'm craving garam masala flavored jelly beans... perhaps Bertie Botts makes them.)

this cake was a very large expansion of a display cake I had done in light blue and brown. the pattern was inspired by a pen-and-ink floral notecard.
I spied these cute towels on ebay and my "Wonderful" sister got them for me. They represent the seven days of the week. I painted the clothes line to hang them from.
