Yes, that's like a house dress, but prettier. And like you sometimes do with the house dress, you can cheat and wear these to costco, especially if it's cold out.
These are made from a hand dyed worsted weight wool/nylon and they're a lot warmer than my sock weight socks. They also work well with my crocs. :) I'll be making another pair or two, hopefully before it gets too warm.

Unlike Colleen's other 2018 Harry Potter dolls, these four wizards did not have unique outfits. All were clad in the traditional Hogwarts school uniforms. I knew that it would look most aesthetically pleasing if all of them coordinated. But I did not want to do black bases with gold lettering, as I had done in the past. Instead, I thought I would make all the bases match the uniforms. So that's why they are grey with red and golden yellow stripes! To tie them in with Dumbledore and McGonagall's stands, I outlined their lettering in black and used the same color for the font. This might be a simple, sleek design, but I love how it compliments the dolls in their traditional garb. I never want my handmade stands to distract from the dolls themselves, but simply to accentuate what is already there. Colleen didn't understand my notes I had written about my plans for these stands (sometimes I like to map out what I'm doing ahead of time). But once she saw the finished product, she really loved the concept. What can I say, it's great when you can please your human client and the plastic ones. Now all her 2018 Harry Potter dolls can stand properly on display, instead of toppling over on the plain white, handmade Monster High stands they were borrowing!
