This bed is dressed with a batted silk bedspread in a delicate shade of cream and dripping with layers of lace. The roses and rosebuds on the bedspread are hand embroidered using custom dyed silk ribbons. The same roses and rosebuds are embroidered on the insets in the headboard and footboard of the bed as well as on the pillows. The matching dressed vanity bench pulls the whole room together. Meadow is what I named this case. Isn't the little bunny just way to sweet? This was made from a child size pillowcase and made for a baby.

Hers was all white, but that wouldn't show on a white duvet, so I opted for variagated yellow-green & cream. I'm pleased with it.

It's been a while since I did up a bagkeeper.....so I did!! lol A cute vintage pattern, hand embroidered onto a nice robin's egg blue vintage linen--and bordered with some nostalgic prints. Topped off with a yoyo--you know, for cuteness!

I am so close to being done I can taste it! Just a few more finishing touches and it's complete! :) I think the lettering on this piece has come out the best so far! Hopefully the finished piece will be posted by tomorrow!

Hand and machine embroidered, mounted on to a canvas backing

I usually make some sort of embroidered piece around the time of the general election and the only rule is that it has to be finished before the results are known.

These pieces are not for public display but are for my own amusement. They help me remember the issues and the personalities involved.

I'm now heavily stitching my exhibition piece called "Brexit - the first lie" for a forthcoming exhibition called "The lie of the land".

It's especially hard to embroider this piece for two reasons: firstly, it's a dark, gloomy day and also stitching through rusted fabric is tough.

In these stitches I have referenced the cracks and splits which so fascinate me in real life. I find cracks, joins and corners so interesting and I find that I draw them over and over again.

The fabric base for this piece has been distressed to show a disintegrating society and I've added splits which have been papered over - with stitch references to the "X" on the ballot box.

Other areas have been highlighted with paint and rust effects and these are representative of the maps shown on election night of the various electoral boundaries.

I have overlaid stitching suggesting cracks and also pressure points, but as these are black stitches on a black background they are not immediately obvious. They are intended to provide texture and interest to the whole piece.

I still have a large area to cover and hopefully the light levels will improve as the week progresses.

This is a rare art piece from China, it is a table screen, the central part is mounted on a beatiful hand carved stand and it could be revolving.

There are two different pattern on the transparent fabric base, one is tiger and the opposite side is a lion.

The artist hand embroidered the lion and tiger on both sides of a same fabric base but no jont is visible. It's special skills of Chinese embroidery artist and there is only a few artists able to do this kind of top grade embroidery art pieces.
