It was a warm summer day. We were staying at a friends cabin in Sierraville. Our 3-year-old wanted to explore trains. On our hunt for trains, we came across this old railroad yard. It had all kinds of old trains with tons of character and stories to tell. He got to climb onto them. It was the perfect afternoon.

It had all kinds of old trains with tons of character and stories to tell. He got to climb onto them. It was the perfect afternoon.
Just as the name suggests, a home cafe with lots of style. Faux finished stripes, combined with hand lettering and accented with upholstery nails. Good food and good times are always had at the Cafe Kort.

When I was much younger in grade school I remember when kids used to ask me if I was in the “pen 15 club” and when I said no, they would write “pen15″ on my hand in marker. In the end, it was basically a way to write “penis” on someones hand. I think it’s time to bring the pen 15 club back.

I was asked to do a positive affirmation or mantra for a new magazine coming out - Underground Art School (In case anyone starts wondering why I sound like a self-help book...)
I was responsible for hand-lettering the Weekly Specials inserts ( which unfortunately I never saved !! ) for this Menu. This Menu for the Checkers Cafe located inside the Tredway Inn in Paramus, New Jersey was very creatively designed as a Vinyl Record Album,with an actual Vinyl Disc inside that listed the Desserts and Pizza creations available.
The nice thing about this was that I was working as Hotel Supervisor there and also got paid for my hand-lettering every week, and to top that off was the perk that I could order anything I wished from the Menu - free of charge ! So many choices, such little time.....

Yesterday was the best day of my life thus far, I proposed to my girlfriend of five and a half years and she said yes!!! I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet, she is everything to me and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her! Also, on a side note, thank God it worked out because I didn’t do a “She said No” daily drawing, haha.
