This is one of several hallways on the queen mary with rooms on each side, it's almost hypnothic, because it's hard to see the end of it, and the floor has a downward slope from this point of view.
In the building where I worked in South Boston. It is on a pier, and the hallway is almost the entire length of it. The longest hallway I have ever seen, actually, so...I had to snap it.
Taken the Friday after Thanksgiving, when I had to work but no one else was in the office. There was something strange about a normally busy hallway being very calm.
Bathroom side. These photos make the paint color look even better than in person! Wow, I want this color! (My color isn't so bad but slightly less saturated).
Not really doing it justice with the lighting needed to take the photo. This hallway is almost 16 metres long (52') and dull, narrow, unpleasant.
Woodwork is rough and dated, but spiders love it!
It's all got to go - and be replaced with something appealing, more functioanl and much, much brighter.
Lighting will be provided for in the day time by faux skylights and in the evenings by a combination of lamps, uplighters and sconces. Getting the functionality right is taking a bit of head-scratching.
