We lucked out and had great weather this weekend for our Halloween steam trains. (now visible on the Columbian newspaper online)

- navy blazer (talbots), tie (calvin klein), boy's white shirt, men's grey trousers (target) from thrift store
- boxers from target
- black oxfords, earth shoes
- homemade nametag "Congressional Page Program: R. U. Hornee"
I made these using empty jars, tissue paper, Modge Podge, and hand-cut construction paper decorations.
Me (left) and my friend Gilda, who I met when I was 4 years old. We lived across the street from each other.
I'm pretty sure I was a Hippie and she was a Mod.

Its never to soon to prepare for Halloween!
So today little Pip was nice enough to lend me a paw together we made sure that the decorations were up to par this year.
After everything was in order, we sat down and had nice hot chocolate and talked about what costume we should wear.
Apparently little Pip is looking for something fearsome because he wants to prove he hadn’t gone soft as a certain someone suggested ;-)
I think I’ll wear my award winning grim sheeper costume again hehe.

Halloween is here! I'm getting ready to hand out treats for all of the little monsters. The weather has warmed up quite a bit from earlier this week, so hopefully I won't have too much candy left over.
First time I've ever fit into "one size" tights! 130 lbs. down, 30 or so to go...

Handmade Halloween postcard: rubber-stamped letters, markers, colored pencils.
I swear, the only part of this I feel responsible for is the rubber-stamped greeting. I had five different monsters preliminarily sketched in, but once I'd drawn the green guy's face, he totally took over my pencil. He made me erase the others, asked for a victim to play with, and dictated everything about how he should be drawn. Hey--would you argue with that guy?
Then he demanded female companionship. Once I drew her face and torso, she took over, saying, "He tends to be a little excitable. I'm the brains in this couple."
I was like, "OK, whatever you say." I wish all my art were so easy!

My vintage Halloween molded plastic lamp collection. The haystack pumpkin and the green haunted house are the actual ones I had as a kid. The witch and the top-hat pumpkin I just picked up at Shupp's Grove flea market, in Lancaster county, this past Sunday. The small jacko I picked up at Shupp's last year I think...
Halloween was a bit of a strange affair this year, I had one child desperate to go trick or treating, the other was having nothing of the 'scariness'. Unfortunately it also co-incided with the weekly ballet play date and ballet and by the time the girl got home and ate tea it was late. Thankfully we met up with some friends and we managed to satisfy Martha, pacify Monty, get some treats and not get home too much past bedtime! phew
