Early morning at the new bridge in Lustleigh Cleave. No model, so I will have to get in the photo myself. Fortunately my camera can take up to 10 photos in rapid succession after a 10 second delay.
Set the camera up, clamber over the tripod without kicking it, sprint down the bridge, kick feet in the air repeatedly, come back to look - too small in the picture, adjust zoom and try again.
Notice the photos are too dark, light getting in the eyepiece and altering the exposure. Work out right exposure compensation, try again.
Autofocus can't cope, set to manual focus and try again.
Shutter speed too slow giving movement blur, adjust settings, remove my hat and try again.
By now I am not capable of kicking my feet in the air without pulling an awful face, but I don't notice that until I see the photos on the computer. Out of the 80+ photos this is the only one that is just about acceptable.
After a fairly okay morning we had the meeting of all the staff from all the projects on the main base this afternoon. Happy when I arrived exhaustion suddenly hit me and after a few comments to remind me just how much I miss my good friend Els I spent the entire meeting feeling fed up, about to cry and not at all well.
Then got home and tried everything to edit out that annoying fluorescent light. Simply accomplished making myself EVEN more fed up! So its staying!
It seems that it isn't so much the all day of meetings that does me as just the one particular meeting! I woke up already dreading it, spent the morning feeling physically sick in anticipation of it plus upset as my friend is now ill because of the stress she is facing. Then spent the meeting either not listening or boiling over with internal anger and frustration!
On a brighter note I did miss the start of the meeting as Danny asked me to take him over to his friends house to play during the meeting. I was entertained by a story of crocodiles trying to attack him while he slept but he woke up and stamped on their heads and shouted at them really REALLY loud (he demonstrated for me :-) ). Of course once we got there I had to wait around for quite some time to check he was settled okay!!!

Just visually venting, and going with what looks to be a growing theme of visual puns. In the spirit of the vent, no other comment or comments on it.

I look at this and laughingly think of Miley Cyrus's..'The climb" Doesn't help that I heard it three times today on a 13 mile run!
I was greeted with a high pitched wine and after some time realized that it was produced at the rear end of this Moth. 5 minute farts!
The post-Christmas chocolate stash. Like everyone else, I've had quite enough of chocolate for a while (despite having loads left.) It's all going to stay in the draw until I can face it again. Which lets face it will probably be next week!

Blue Monday couldn't have been truer in my case. Arrive back at work after a long weekend and I'm greeted by the Blue Screen of Death. I was unimpressed, but not as unimpressed as IT Support where when I called them at 8:45!

Thought this was a little Martin Parr-esque... the everyday-ness, the tourist location (center parcs), the colours (first time shooting with the super saturated Ultra 100). He'd quite possibly frame it better though....

Please allow me to introduce myself,
I'm a man of wealth and taste.
Ive been around for a long, long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith.
And I was around when jesus christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain,
Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate.
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name.
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game.
I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change,
Killed the czar and his ministers,
Anastasia screamed in vain.
I rode a tank,
Held a generals rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank.
Pleased to meet you,
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah.
Ah, whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game.
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made.
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedies?
When after all
It was you and me.
Let me please introduce myself,
I'm a man of wealth and taste.
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay.
Pleased to meet you,
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah.
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game.
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah.
But whats confusing you
Is just the nature of my game.
Just as every cop is a criminal,
And all the sinners saints,
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer,
'cause I'm in need of some restraint.
So if you meet me,
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste.
Use all your well-learned politesse,
Or I'll lay your soul to waste...
Found deck sealed at Stuff Etc consignment store for couple bucks. Nice quality. Every card is a different illustration.
a lovely day out in the wide blue yonder meandering round the lanes, driving, walking and just mooching through the day.
wouldn't and couldn't ask for more....;-)
This is from my sundeck, in February! I already had enough of Winter and today, April 20th 2011, we are having ANOTHER snowstorm. It's very rare at this time of year. All the snow was gone and the flowers had begun to grow.. I don't know what will happen to poor birdies and their nests... I'm sad... :(
