For weeks now we have had to put up with advert after advert promoting supermarket after supermarket pushing all their posh nosh to people who are struggling with the basics , or maybe they are trying to flog little bottles full of some pong at high prices and all the other things we see advertised on the television . As soon as Christmas day comes all these adverts suddenly change to Holiday ads or sale of products be they be electronics , furniture or white goods , or they could be any of the the other strongly promoted items - phones and/or broadband -- Enough !!
Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 31/12/2022 - Seasonal ,
Well a random advert to make my seasonal point for SSC chosen mainly for the bold red and white colours and the fact that it also includes a season of the year in the text and not for the company it is promoting !! Talking of adverts , they say they are not broadcast at a higher volume , maybe not and they are just recording at a higher gain setting for the volume in the first place !!
With this broadband and mobile phone system advert - this song could have been written for them -- But B.T. got there first and Pink Floyd took advantage of that old advert !!
It's Boxing Day here. The house is quiet. Rumblemumbles has gone to the airport for a week in Sydney.
I haven't been well for 7 days now with an as yet un-diagnosed virus and am grounded. I am not allowed out and am running out of themed shots not taken in the home.
Sheesh ;-(
And mapped, just for Dan and the gang.

After being diagnosed with maloccluded incisors, the vet removed Tetney's 4 front incisors. This is him just a few hours after getting home. Very soon after hopping out of his vet-cage, he headed to his favourite corner, ate some coriander and started pooping. He isn't too pleased and became a bit more displeased when the pain killers wore off. Now, this was a few days ago and since then he is much happier. In fact, I've never seen a rabbit eat so much hay with so much enthusiasm. He was a little annoyed at first as he had to re-learn how to pick up food but soon got the hang of it.
A 'flock' of 7 Buzzards riding a thermal east of Castle Acre before heading west.
Never seen anything like that before!

This guy looked like the world was about to end. Squatting down in the corner , just outside the station he didn't look like a happy chappy. Hope this get better for him soon.
On a brighter note, I was on the train to work this morning. There was a little old lady sat on the other side of the long seat to me. When the train stopped at the first station, she got off the train. As she walked out the door I realized she had left her purse on the seat. I jumped up, grabbed the purse and shouted to her but being old and frail, she either didn't hear me or though I was just a trouble maker. I kept shouting but she just got off the train. I got to the train doors as they started playing the "closing the doors" music. I reached out as far as I could, with my toe just inside the door in case it closed, and was just able to tap her on the shoulder. Her reaction...Nothing..So I did it again and finally she turned around. Good job she was old and a slow mover. I quickly gave her the wallet and darted back inside just as the doors were closing. It was only then that I realized my wallet was in my bag (that I had left on the train). If the train doors had closed without me on the train, I would have lost my wallet. Karma worked it's course me thinks. The little old lady gave me a big bow and a huge smile as the train pulled away. Happy ending.

Eli, being younger and a friskier, loves to wrestle with Cooper. Cooper plays along, for a while, than tells Eli he's had enough.

This is a variation of the original "Toaster Suicide", without the blazer, with a loose tie and a psycho-nerd pose.
Don't know about the museum itself 'cause it seems like the guy hadenough. LOL (^-^)v
Other pictures of Japan, Kyoto (京都) and Gion (祇園).
Supposed to be putting a showcase together for our SVP. Actually looking at one of Harry's pictures on Flickr and taking a photo of myself doing so. I got the showcase done anyway. And they liked it. So I've got to do another one.
Sarah Palin stated in her speech last night "thanks, but no thanks for the bridge to nowhere" regarding the funding of a $398 million bridge in the state of Alaska. Read the article here about how it actually went down. I am so tired of all their lies. Palin is all about exploitation and drilling in Alaska. And according to an article I heard on NPR this morning, the state of Alaska is building a road leading to the "bridge to nowhere"...at taxpayer expense. Why would you need a road to a bridge that isn't going to be built???? go figure.
FGR invades Fake News (this may not be fake news; but it sure is full of lies and inspired by FGR)
It could have been a lot worse here, but it warmed up had turned to rain. Now it's freezing rain and thunder.
Chicago got it so much worse...I just heard that 7 people died there last night from the storm, and tonight is going to be so cold there again...Sad to hear about the people...
Found this one after a trawl through lightroom, it made me chuckle, so thought it was worth sharing x
......a Latin expression roughly equivalent to the English notion of having ‘had enough’. So it is more than possible that a Roman Centurian would have looked like, and said this!! This tired chap is part of the Ermine Street Guard.
I've had enough, how about you? Shot in the studio when I was just fed up! Part of a series that started when I was ten years younger. Bah!

Not In The Mood
Nearly missed my selfie today, with just 5 more to go! It’s what comes of being out of my usual routine. I spent another nice day with friends in Peckham, including a bracing walk around Battersea Park this afternoon. But I’m full of cough/cold/cat allergy/medication and really wasn’t in any mood to take a self portrait. Eventually managed something late in the day, but I don’t look happy about it… C’est la vie. Hungary before they are duly elected. A Hungarian professor, who could speak a littleEnghsh, once remarked to us: Our Bishops arePrinces !—Princes ! When they go to Rome,Cardinals call on them, and hold out their handsfor money—money! And our priests are gentle-men—not, as in Italy and some other countries, beggars—beggars! We greatly enjoyed the Bishops hospitality fora few days, and then set out to find paintingquarters for the summer. We went to Maramaros-Sziget, a considerabletown on the Tisza (German, Theis), which to us, asartists, was uninteresting, and then on by rail toKorosmezo, close to the frontier of Galicia. Thecountry we passed through is often called * theSwitzerland of Hungary, but it really more closelyresembles parts of Scotland or Wales. When we arrived the weather was cold and wet.Only one small shabby open cab was available, and the best seat in that, under the hood, had beenalready taken The country was bleak, the inn far PEASANT WOMAN IN HER GUBAKISBANYA

Beyond the road bywhich the inn stood a half-empty river flowed, itswater thick with reddish mud; and unattractive-looking Jews in long black kaftans, with curlshanging down their cheeks, walked about disputingin the rain. The dreariness of everything could notwell be surpassed. We were still trying to eat the horrid suppercooked in goose-fat which our Hebrew landladyhad provided, when one of the gentlemen enteredfrom the other room. His object was to find outwho and what we were, and 1 wish we had hadenough spirit left to try to mystify him. Whenhe learnt that we were only artists in search of thepicturesque he seemed greatly relieved, and if, asI suppose, w^e sank in his estimation, he was politeenough not to show it. On my saying to him as arandom shot in return, * You have come about theoil-wells ? he almost staggered back. He was
