The rising of the full Moon of October, the Hunter's Moon, in 2021. Taken from home in southern Alberta. Clouds thwarted plans to travel elsewhere but as it turned out the Moon rose into a clear band allowing a last-minute shoot from home.
This is a 4-exposure blend to take in the dark ground without overexposing the Moon, with the 200mm lens at f/11 on the Canon Ra camera at ISO 400. Blended with ADP Pro luminosity masks. A mild Orton Glow added with Luminar AI.

This Twinspot Hunter had recently emerged and was resting in the warm sunshine while it pumped up its wings. This dragonfly will slowly change its colour and become black and yellow.
The hunter’s teeth are ivory saws
That hack through bone and sever flesh
The hunter’s teeth are snarling eyes
That slice the mesh of nervous heads
But hunter knows that
teeth can turn
burrow through its own mind’s flesh
sometimes hunter hunts itself
Like teeth that eat through sleep

This is an HDR shot of Hunter's Beach near Acadia National Park in Maine just after the fog had cleared. Thanks to Nate Parker for the tip to visit this remarkable place. Nate is a fine photographer based in the Mount Desert Island area. Check out his work if you have a minute. www.flickr.com/photos/47218202@N02/
