197/365 - "How Beautiful Wisconsin Really Is"
After my Hawaii trip, I only got my camera out a few times in 3 weeks. The long, cold winter really messed with my head after being in paradise for 10 days. It took this quick day-trip to the Algoma lighthouse on Lake Michigan with my adventure friends to snap me out of my funk and remember how beautiful Wisconsin really is.
So yes, now that spring has official arrived, I'll be posting snow pictures for awhile...

After bariatric surgery, the amount of food you can eat at one time is decreased, but the desire to eat to cope with emotions is not affected. Therefore, it is important to realize the difference between eating when you are physically hungry versus emotional eating, as well as what specifically triggers your cravings so that you are successful with your weight loss goals after surgery. How many cabins are at Camp Half-Blood? How long was Leo in Ogygia? Tweens in grades 4-8 tested their Demigod trivia knowledge at Haggard Library! Topics were from the Rick Riordan series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Heroes of Olympus, The Kane Chronicles, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, and the Trials of Apollo.

Thank you so much Spikelover! We love it!
I've been admiring the poppies that I've seen, recently, both in my area & on flickr. Such a vibrantly colored flower, with such unusual seed pods. Delightful! I saw this one in Copake, New York, USA on June 2, 2012. How many bugs can you see?
This man was sitting on a bench at my locat park. I took a shot of him as he was counting the change in his hands. I was nervous to take the shot, but luckily the picture turned out very well.
There's a story. Last year when I was taking Iris to Girls Rock Camp, we would get a chuckle out of this sign. I always meant to get a photo of it, and tried to fix in my memory the phrase "how can be lounge."
Months passed. It came up and we realized we couldn't recall the exact wording. Finally today I made a mission of photographing the sign.
Turns out the place has the story inside of why it's called "How Can Be Lounge." I bought a tee-shirt, but I'm not sure what to do with it.
It's a karaoke bar. The owner says "how can be?" frequently. And so the name.
I came across this abandoned car in the middle of the woods, quite surreal as it has been here for a while and it must have been quite a journey for it to arrive at its final resting place! This scene made me think of the lines from a "Talking Heads" classic song, "Once in a lifetime" and the line which goes....."Well, how did I get here?" Never heard it before? Try youtube for it, great song!!

How to build a staircase. These images are in no perticular order by the way, and a bit grainy from my old camera.

This is how they make ice cream in Ecuador. The city of Ibarra is famous for using huge copper bowls over straw and ice and a lot of stirring power to make it's amazing ice cream. It's worth a visit!
