listen "the honey"--------

Bobby Goldsboro - Honey

See the tree? how big it's grown,

But friend, it hasn't been too long

It wasn't big...

I laughed at her, and she got mad

The first day that she planted it

Was just a twig...

Then the first snow came,

And she ran out to brush the snow away

So it wouldn't die...

Came runnin' in all excited

Slipped and almost hurt herself

And i laughed 'til i cried...

She was always young at heart

Kinda dumb, and kinda smart

And i loved her so...

And i surprised her with a puppy,

Kept me up all Christmas eve,

And it would sure embarrass her when i came in from workin' late,

Cause i would know...

That she'd been sittin there an' cryin',

Over some sad and silly late, late show...

And Honey, i miss you...

And i'm bein' good...

And i'd love to be with you...

If only i could.....................

European Honey Buzzards breed across most of the continent, and they are long distant migrants to Africa south of the Sahara desert. They are very specialized predators of insects, especially wasps, bees and hornets. They are well-adapted to this prey through protective scale like feathers around their eyes and feet that are suitable for walking and digging. I found this bird north of Dresden, in the federal state of Saxony in Germany, carrying a honeycomb or part of a wasp nest.

...this wasn't the shot I was aiming for but it turned out to be fascinating none the less, the honey sacs are really clear on this 'hunny bee' gorging itself on the ceanothus.

Boring afternoon, preparing my tea, a spoon of honey and...yes! Inspiration comes!

This is our brand, our honey. It’s microbiologically active unlike store bought. If you like honey it would be worth your while to buy from a bee keeper .

.........got very lucky when 2 friends [https://www.flickr.com/photos/131918873@N03] and his wife Freda spotted this beauty flying overhead . Nikon D500/Sigma 150-600mm C.

“At last came the golden month of the wild folk-- honey-sweet May, when the birds come back, and the flowers come out, and the air is full of the sunrise scents and songs of the dawning year.”

― Samuel Scoville Jr.

Italian chestnut honey has a liquid consistency, with a dark amber color with some reddish tones. Its flavor is slightly bitter, tannic: tasting it leaves the mouth dry with a bitter aftertaste.

The properties and benefits of chestnut honey: rich in minerals (potassium and iron) it is ideal for athletes, stimulates blood circulation and disinfects the urinary tract.

Pairing: it goes very well with fresh, matured and blue cheeses such as Tuscan Caciotta, Caciocavallo, Caprino and Parmesan.

Eastern Bluebird with a honey backdrop.

The bluebirds are starting to slowly regain confidence in coming into the yard. It was a hard year for them with the late cold snap and the damn old world sparrows that have been driving all my native birds from the yard. They are slowly being curbed and the good birds are starting to return. Im not sure what happened to my "pet" bluebirds, but these dont come when I call like my old ones did. I fear they may have moved elsewhere. I will win these new ones over eventually but its taking some time. This male was perched on a branch I really have setup with hopes of woodpeckers using it but the sun was hitting all the empty tree branches giving off this lovely golden honey glow.

This Honey Bee was leaving this Trumpet Vine flower and flew directly toward my lens. It had just become airborn.
