A fireman gives a woman a hand to help her stand up in the water. During the Penguin Plunge in Whitefish, Montana, I was impressed that on the ice and in the water there was always a fireman or paramedic standing by to help one of the participants should they get in trouble. It was hard to get a photo with out one of them there. If anyone showed any signs of trouble they were there checking. Great job by all the first responders on hand.
Helping out at the florist. This is a world away from his day job in his company working with top fashion designers in eyewear.
U30C 807's job is just about over as the Fireman walks out to cut her off as the train 418 has crested Byron Hill. A friendly wave from the caboose!
I was pretty pleased to see that I gave Haley a glowing eye like Cable (if you read comics, you know who I'm talking about). Unexpected outcomes are always welcome.
I think this was the only shot of Haley that I took that morning. She needed help with her photography homework, and I decided to sneak in an Impossible Project shot while she used my digital camera. Never a dull moment with an SX-70 around.
sat in a lovely cafe in Brantes and caught these cyclists riding up to the centre....it's a great climb with switchbacks and views to die for

This document states that I sponsored the upkeep of York Minster for a total of four minutes in the summer of 1976. I also did the same sponsorship ten years later. Whilst I am not religious by any means (even though I was oddly baptised C of E), as an appreciator of all things artistic, I have to say I find these old Gothic style churches, flying buttresses notwithstanding, and their assorted tombs, statues and of course the stained glass windows, to be absolutely fascinating. And in the case of York Minster, the rose window itself is a superb masterwork of medieval stained glass. Such architecture is a testament to humanity's creativity, engineering skill and artistic development. York Minster was built between 1230-1472.

A lone NS GP60 had stalled over the NS Chicago Line with steel coils for Michigan Ave. Yard blocking Amtrak and a few hot intermodel moves. In short order, the Harbor dispatched a local crew and their retro painted SW1500 to lend a helping hand.. and just like that, the little engine that could grinds through C.P. 100 on Harbors extreme East end as fog and rain in gulf Arcelor Mittal.

MOT pass this afternoon for 455 but not without last minute drama. A faulty door switch failed on route to the test station but thanks to the quick response of the team at Seaford & District it was quickly rectified. The love of buses
