The Gennadius Library (Greek: Γεννάδειος Βιβλιοθήκη), also known as the Gennadeion, is one of the most important libraries in Greece, with over 110,000 volumes on Greek history, literature and art from Antiquity until modern times. The library is located on the slopes of Mount Lycabettus, in central Athens, and is one of the two belonging to the American School of Classical Studies.
On the front is written a quote of Isocrates: "Greeks are called those who take part in our own education", part of "Panegyricus".

Cicadas produce a sound that can reach 90 to 100 decibels. This is at a level that can damage hearing. The noise is made by the male of the species trying to attract a mate. They do this from first thing in the morning to last thing at night!!!!!!! Keen....😁.
The Hellenic air power was greatly shown in Tanagra! The CH-47D Chinook is seen here flying stationnary, while the AH-64A Apache performs shows of force.
A very nice guest from Greece visited Villacoublay today. After a quite unusual approach (flying vertical Orly, then a go around in Villa and a looong downwind), here is 'HAF354M' on short final RWY27 from Elefsis.
I love these pieces created by The Ox King for the Hellenic Museum. They represent the three Fates of Greek mythology Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. They were divinities in Greek mythology who presided over human life. Together, the Fates represented the inescapable destiny of humanity. In Greek mythology, the Fates were divine beings who personified the birth, life, and death of humankind.
