Enschede by night
The Twente Canal runs from Eefde (near Zutphen) via Hengelo to Enschede, with a branch to Almelo.
The Twente Canal flows into the IJssel at Eefde
* From Eastbourne to Seaford there is a solid wall of chalk cliffs along the shore of the English Channel . There is only one place where you can walk to the beach without risking life and limb. Cuckmere haven is a gap in the cliffs that allows the river Cuckmere to very gently meander its way through grassy meadows . It was late in the evening and the light was fading but we saw a lot of Egrets and herons but photographs were not really possible . In this shot as you look towards the channel . The cliffs of Seven sisters begin to rise on your left .
The best view of the haven is from the top of the steep road leading down but there was nowhere safe to pull over. We walked back up the hill a little way to get this POV but traffic was heavy and walking further did not seem sensible

An impressionist view from the shore of one of the largest lakes at Plantsbrook Nature Reserve. A haven for wildlife, and one of my favourite places to walk with Marnie and my camera.

Still posting old stuff until new adventures arise.
This was Cuckmere Haven just days before Europe went into Covid lockdown. We watched the news every night and it became clear the World was on fire. March 16th we drove straight from Brighton to the Eurotunnel, with a small stop to shoot this picture, to get back to France. We had train tickets for late afternoon but exchanged those for a train just before noon.
The Reserve covers 369 acres of the Meon Valley, encompassing a mosaic of natural habitats. River, fen, pools, reedbed and meadow are carefully managed, giving protection to a range of special wildlife.

Oude Haven Rotterdam , detail
Popular place
The Old Port - located in the Maritime District - with its beautiful historic ships is a popular place among Rotterdammers to eat, drink and dance. On summer days the terraces are full until the early hours. Such as Noah's terrace, voted the best cocktail bar in the Netherlands. In Europe's first skyscraper, Het Witte Huis, there is café Het Witte Huis, where you can have drinks and eat until late. Other hotspots are Stockholm, Mooii and Popocatepetl.
The Oude Haven is located in the Maritime District and can be reached by metro or train (Blaak station) or the Water Taxi.
We did the Seven Sisters walk from Beachy Head to Cuckmere Haven which was pretty tiring but there some great views to be seen on the way.

The Grand Haven light at the end of the south pier being besieged by waves. The catwalk was designed for just this type of weather, so that the light was accessible to the keeper, who would otherwise be swept into L. Michigan by the waves.

Skrinkle
Situated on the Pembrokeshire coastline, Skrinkle Haven Beach and Church Doors Cove are located between Old Castle Head and Lydstep Point. It is an area of important geological interest, due to its limestone and red sandstone cliffs. This photo was taken at low tide from the coast path, you can see the Church Doors rock formation which featured in a previous upload. The beach is accessed by some quite steep steps, we think around 122, the counter lost count !
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
