Hello everyone, it's been quite a while since I posted a picture here. Summer has kept me busy and I have taken loads of pictures.
I miss you though and hope you are doing well.
As I was processing this picture last night, I thought it would be perfect for Monochrome Bokeh Thursday and for paying you all a visit.
Happy Thursday and HMBT!

Architecturally, the building is remarkable both for its harmonious proportions, linked to the unity of its design, and for the quality of its tympanums, sculptures and stained glass windows. It differs in particular from the other great cathedrals of the time by a completely new search for a unified interior space. Exceptional case in France for a Gothic cathedral, it does not have a transept.
The Saint-Étienne de Bourges cathedral is a Gothic cathedral built between the end of the 12th and the end of the 13th century.
The cathedral marks its originality by the size of the western facade with its five portals. They are consecrated, in order and from left to right, to: Guillaume de Bourges, the Virgin Mary, the Last Judgment (central portal), to the martyr Étienne and to Ursin de Bourges. The lack of a transept probably led to a relatively simple design of the side portals.
This is the proposal by Andrew Kovacs. Mine would involve a harmonious existence with a diverse racial, cultural, and economic background where everyone felt, on a very primal needs level, happy and self realized,

From the new (please see my previous upload or first comment) to the old, historical part of the Deutsches Historisches Museum / German Historical Museum (DHM): the entrance hall of the Zeughaus. The Zeughaus was originally built as an arsenal (hence the name Zeughaus which means arsenal or armoury) in baroque style between 1695 and 1706 and was redesigned as a Prussian hall of fame between 1877 and 1880. The Zeughaus was damaged by a fire in WWII, and restored by the GDR authorities between 1949 and 1967 (the exterior true to the original, the interior in a more simplified fashion), and found its current use as home of the DHM in 2003. The Zeughaus today is the oldest original structure on Berlin's oldest boulevard Unter den Linden ("under the linden trees").
Slide-ified for Sliders Sunday: I copied and horizontally flipped the door (which leads to exhibition rooms) and the adjacent space on the left to replace the originally more cluttered looking part on the right (with the main entrance and the rather busy museum shop) to create a more harmonious and cleaner look. And I borrowed an image taken at the opposite staircase: The forest illumination with the two silhouettes - father and son - in front of it. The area at the top of the stairs on this side of the entrance hall was actually completely empty.
HSS, Everyone, take care, keep calm, and stay healthy!

I know there are those who say: why don't you sing now
with that harmonious madness of yesteryear?
They do not see the profound work of the hour,
the work of the minute and the wonder of the year.
I, poor tree, produced, to the love of the breeze,
When I started to grow up, a lazy and sweet they are.
The time for the youthful smile has passed:
Let the hurricane move my heart!

Lying between the wooded hills of Exmoor and the sea, Dunster is one of the most attractive villages in Somerset. In the 12th century it sat on the coast, and thrived as the main trading port for Exmoor. However, when the sea retreated, leaving Dunster two miles inland, it continued to prosper as a centre of the wool trade, and it is from this era that Dunster's striking Yarn Market dates.
By the 16th and 17th centuries demand had shifted from raw wool to finished cloth. Since Dunster cloth was woven in nearby mills, the village remained prosperous, as the building of the Yarn Market shows.
Built in 1609 and repaired in 1647, it sits in the middle of the high street as a monument to this trade. Before it was built, most of the buying and selling would have been done in the open air, but the English weather being what it is, there must have been occasions when trading was halted by wind or rain. Sellers must also have been worried about the security of their goods. The Yarn Market was a permanent solution to all these problems.
The building is octagonal in shape, and built almost entirely of wood. Gables over each side contain windows which help to light the interior; a central stone pillar topped by a bell turret supports the open roof. The different parts of the building make up a harmonious whole; note how the eaves were made to project in order to give shelter to prospective customers as they inspected the goods laid out for sale.
As I gaze upon the digitally painted scene, I find myself transported back to the vibrant streets of Santiago de Compostela. The image depicts a captivating pedestrian street, adorned with cobblestone pavement that resonates with history and charm. The scene showcases the timeless beauty of the city's historic center, where locals and tourists intertwine, creating a lively atmosphere.
The sun casts its warm glow, gently illuminating the surroundings, and casting shadows that dance across the ancient stones. The architecture that lines the street exudes a sense of grandeur and elegance, with buildings displaying a harmonious blend of traditional and modern designs. Intricate facades and balconies adorned with colorful flowers add a touch of whimsy and vibrancy to the already enchanting setting.
As I observe the scene, I notice a multitude of people strolling along the pedestrian street. The locals, with their relaxed pace and familiarity, navigate effortlessly through the bustling crowd. Their conversations and laughter fill the air, creating a joyful ambiance that is contagious. Meanwhile, tourists, with their awe-filled expressions and eager curiosity, soak in the city's rich heritage, capturing every moment with their cameras.
The scent of freshly brewed coffee and tantalizing aromas from nearby restaurants and cafes waft through the air, tempting passersby with their culinary delights. The sounds of street musicians serenade the crowd, their melodies blending harmoniously with the bustling energy of the city.
In this beautifully captured digital painting, Santiago de Compostela comes to life. Its picturesque streets invite exploration and discovery, offering glimpses into the past while embracing the present. It is a scene that encapsulates the essence of this historic city, where history and modernity coexist in perfect harmony, captivating the hearts of all who wander its enchanting streets.

A rock bunting perched on a lichen-covered branch, displaying its finely patterned plumage. Captured in soft natural light, the bird’s delicate features and earthy tones blend harmoniously with the blurred background, highlighting its presence in its mountainous habitat.
I have several takes of this same composition during a range of a few minutes, but I prefer this one with people showing in. The human presence may convey the feeling of an harmonious relationship with Nature. After all, we belong here, don't we? Besides, people may be seen as a nice watermark, more interesting and less intrusive than a graphical one.
Bit of an experimental image that I noticed the other day. Might have to come back to this when I find another web in a more harmonious relationship to its background
Branchage literally means 'branches'.
The branchage refers to the law which ensures that any vegetation growth that overhangs roads and footpaths is cut back. This includes hedges, branches, trees, shrubs, grass and flowers etc.
Shifa
By Clayton Blake (Qld)
‘Shifa’ symbolises a harmonious future, advocating for a two-state solution. Beyond aesthetics, it invites contemplation and dialogue. The art work’s immersive design allows visitors to experience its ethereal presence, with translucent discs casting vibrant, shifting shadows that represent the complexities of coexistence. Each disc embodies a facet of identity, culture and history, reflecting the delicate balance necessary for peace. While a beacon of hope, ‘Shifa’ also mourns the destruction of Al Shifa Hospital, acknowledging pain and loss. The piece highlights the power of art to inspire change, embrace diversity, and foster a shared vision for a compassionate future.

The Church of Gesù is the most important Baroque church in Palermo, Sicily (Italy). Built at the beginning of the 17th century, as a church of the Jesuit professed house, it has been part of the artistic heritage of Sicily since 1892. It was renovated in 2009.
The marble in the apse is an example of Sicilian Baroque. The gallery in the apse is adorned with impressive marble bas-reliefs: the Adoration of the Shepherds (1710-1714) and the Adoration of the Magi (1719-1721), works by Gioacchino Vitagliano.
The walls are covered with marbles, marquetry, statues and arabesques, constituting an artistic whole harmoniously fusing architecture, painting and plastic decoration. Particularly successful are the floral, allegorical (water, fire, earth, air) or figurative patterns made of marquetry and colored marble.

The glowing Meissen at night.
It was a beautiful night, warm and wonderfully beautiful. The break in the Elbe created a unique reflection.
Even though it's been a while since the evening, I can still really visualise the scenery.
Albrechtsburg Castle, which fills the photo as a central element, looks even more impressive thanks to the lighting. The first part of the reflection looks dynamic and corresponds with the events on the riverbank. The slightly offset reflection has a harmonious effect and brings calm to the photo.
I am looking forward to your opinion on this photo.
A Great Egret and Little Egret make a harmonious landing into the water.
I am beginning to love, love love my Nikon D500. This camera has rave reviews so my expectations were high when I finally got it into my hot little lands. My first week with it was a disaster. All my images were soft and blurry. Of course my initial reaction was that I had a bad copy of the camera. While it happens, it is rarely the case. It usually comes down to technique. I had never used my "Big lens" (Tamron 150-600) on a crop sensor. It performs differently compared with my Full Frame and after some research, I realised that I did not have the shutter speed anywhere near fast enough to compensate for the greater focal distance I was getting with the crop sensor, particularly as I have been hand holding alot and trying birds in flight shots. I was also shooting under terrible conditions. Some changes to my technique and settings, now fully manual and auto ISO, I am starting to get alot more keepers.
I need alot more practice to work out which of the awesome AF settings work best for different scenarios but it is lots of fun trying.
joyous noise let us rejoice
in one wonderful harmonious voice
join together the great choir in Heaven
smile and love as they sing unleavened
a sigh, a tear, a grin let us win!
not tomorrow or yesterday but today
let us say
stand tall and if you fall
know that God has us all
His choirs are all on key
as they sing to you and me
love is all around
love is the great abound
fill your cup to the top
and know that you will never flop
you will always win
get up if you must and do it all again
sing and know that you were made for delight
your home is in heaven
wow wow wow wow
stay in the now.
peace to all

It was an amazing night when the shadowed moon harmoniously shared the sky with the stars... It was clearly visible the moon and the stars. However, the constellation of the Oreon, which afraid the flaming Moon, is already trying to escape from the moon ;-) See on the right hand side.
