Again, an accidental double exposure from Portugal. I kind of love it. Well I loved it before flickr went and made it looks pixellated and colourless -____- Boo you, flickr.

Last night was one of the coldest nights of the winter so far -7C.
But that is pretty good compared to where I lived before in Toronto, which reached -12C.
Amazing that I am just a few kms south over the lake, and there is a 5C difference. Very happy with that.
I thought this hot summer day at the beach was a fitting post to counter the polar vortex cold.

Beautiful Lake Ontario.
I’m sure The Lace was a happening spot at one time, but now it’s sign overlooks a vacant lot alongside Highway 50 in Western Nevada.
This is mostly lit by moonlight and the sodium and mercury vapor lights of the surrounding businesses. I threw some natural LED on this, the shady side, as well. About 8 minutes total exposure time. Shot in June 2011.
Reprocessed and replaced, March 2025.

No holes in the ear for earrings but there are little holes for the white cotton string above the ears
All this was within 2 blocks of our home. First was the life flight helicopter responding to an attempted suicide (probably ended up being). Then because the helicopter landed in the intersection, a car that was blocked from going forward by another fire truck backed into another car thinking it would be hit (we guess), The thing that made the news was a two or three alarm fire at the end of our street just down from where I'm standing to get the photos.
Where we live is in the county and all fire departments outside Houston are volunteer. We saw Cypress, Cy-Creek, and Klein that we're sure of. The fire was uncontrollable so one of the local tv stations finally got word of chaos in our neighborhood and did cover the fire. Three districts responded but on the news it was called a two alarm fire.
Mind you, this was all happening at exactly the same time. You've never seen such chaos. Wow - many of us have lived here for a long, long time and we met neighbors we'd never even seen before.

Shillmans main floor, trimmed for the Valentine weekend. The lights on the ledges are of a red glow but in the picture they show mostly a white center.
