I was at my daughter's house last night and these raccoons came to the door, probably looking for food and warmth. Suddenly they both stood up at the same time, as though pleading. I took this shot handheld through the window - it was below freezing outside.
My photo outing got cancelled today and has been postponed to Friday, but with the below freezing temperatures and black ice on the roads, I have a feeling it won't be happening.
A serendipitous happening- sunlight on a pink boa on the shelf just when you need a pink something for a SOS shot!!

I'd much rather hang out in a cafe. That's where things are really happening.

The Blue Water Café is located in downtown Grand Marais, Minnesota on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior and is a long time favorite of locals and visitors.
Blue Water Café is a family owned business and provides a full menu. We serve breakfast all day, lunch, and dinner. Our omelettes have been acknowledged as being one of the top ten in the state of Minnesota.
Whether you are wanting to shop, dine, relax, fish, ski, hike or sit on the beach, Blue Water Café is located in the middle of everything.
We recently added a vacation rental above the Café that can sleep 6 guests and provides a great view of downtown Grand Marais, Lake Superior and the Sawtooth Mountains.
Very shy and well hidden in the forests - just when drinking you can sometimes find them with some luck in the dark ;)
Sim: Lea6 - Stranger Things are Happening
One from yesterday Morning, after having a storm come through Monday-Tuesdays Dumping about 16" of snow, ma nature decided she would throw some spring weather at us.
So the Pup said we better head out and see what was happening.
I really wanted to get closer to the ice in the middle, but wasn't going to risk breaking through the ice again, especially when it's more than waist deep out there.
Pup say's the light was neat enough that you should hit "L".
We're off to the city today so will catch up with you all later
On February 12th 2021, the advanced TrainLab ICE train visited Berlin. The highlight of this visit was the run from Berlin Lichterfelde West to Berlin Schönow. This particular stretch is not used anymore so a train running here is quite a happening.
In the picture, the railcar is on its way back to Lichterfelde West from Schönow and is seen running adjacent to a very busy road...
Someone has thrown a hydrangea flower and a fuchsia flower into the pond. Sometime later two Black Pacific Ducks were chasing each other. I just pressed the shutter...

At the end of 2012 the Dutch Army sold several vehicles to Jordan. These vehicles where stabled at the former NAVO depot in Almelo. The whole week DB Schenker and the army were loading these vehicles onto trains for their transfer to Jordan via the Eemshaven. This also happened on the 19th of October 2012, when I received a text message that it was happening. After school I jumped on the bike and biked towards Almelo. During this ride there was barely sun, however when I arrived the train was already waiting in the sun on the shunting tracks on the Almelo Bedrijvenpark. Therefore a picture was quickly made before the locomotive would run around the train. The picture shows the yellow DB Schenker 6469 together with two sets of wagons loaded with around 74 YPR-765/806 (AIFV) vehicles which were waiting on their final drive through the Netherlands.
At the mouth of Pabineau River, where she flows into the Nipisiguit, one can always expect a color spectacle every year. Such was the case this morning!
Over an extended weekend we did a 2000 miles roadtrip from California to Utah and back, destination badlands near Hanksville. Highway 24 runs close to the Fremont River. Life needs water, in the badlands trees can grow only nearby the river. Mountains are eroded over thousands of years, showing their bare beauty.
I processed a paintery and a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the curves and color balance. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
