... I always thought I was rubbish at drawing. Bought a book which shows how to identify shapes and shading etc. Not bad for a first attempt
My hands got really ashy today. Before I applied some cocoa butter to them, I started thinking about how important our hands are to us.
They allow us to eat, allow us to drive, and they allow us to physically touch, caress, and show affection to things. I think I take my hands (and feet) for granted. If I had no hands, it would be hard for me to even communicate this message that I am typing right....now.
I guess I'll have to start taking better care of them.
Tiny leaves from one of my plants grown from seed. I have no idea what it is, the actual flower is missing. I placed this tiny "twig" on my tablet with a white background. I duplicated the image in PS and found one of the blending modes made it almost black, but only just.

DB Cargo Shed 66186 heading the 12.25pm Hedon Road Sidings - Masborough FD (6J94) empty steel train has a brief encounter with Northern's 2.24pm Sheffield - Bridlington service (1W47), unusually in the hands of Sprinter unit 150211, at Swinton Station.
Having clouded over it remained a close, humid day and the summery heat-haze was only added to by the exhaust from both trains. Very pleased of course not to be confined in one of those pig pens given the conditions - stifling or what?

To Londoners who were around in the 'swinging sixties', the city has changed a lot. The shops, fashion, architecture - they've all evolved. But one legend of 1960s Soho who strutted around in dapper suits when Rock 'n' Roll was pulsing from pubs is providing a vital link to that era by carrying on doing what he's always done.
George Skeggs, AKA Soho George, is still right here after 60 years. At 80 years old the great grandfather is still out and about at the local cafes and bars decked out in his signature blue/grey checked suit, Bolero style hat and bowling shoes and just about everyone who passes by stops to congratulate him on his appearance.
