Inspired by a photo taken by Kerri Lee Smith I went outdoors today between two heavy rain showers and tried to photograph droplets. This is a close-up of a flower of my Plumbago and I add a photo in the comments which shows the complete flower. It's one of many, the Plumbago is a kind of shrub and has about 40 of these flowers at the moment.

Had some fun with my tripod in the new shuttle of Munich Airport, before being kicked out by security ;o)

I had to build a bivvy at this point to shelter from the storm, and could progress no further, but every now and then I managed a shot through the hail and snow. This one sums up the mood nicely with a boiling sky and passing hail, and the conditions which make you glad to not be on the ridge. You can make out the hail in this shot, like being fired at with gravel.

I had a great week here. I was more active than usual on vacation this time but it was worth it. This country is much safer than it used to be because of the current President cleaning up the gangs. It reminds me so much of Costa Rica.

Had the very great pleasure of meeting up with three great Flickr photographers this evening. Thank you to Mark and Geoff for inviting me along to their Clevedon shoot. Geoff can be seen top left and Mark to the left in the shadow of the steps. Also, met local talented photographer Sue Sayer (Pixelsuzy) later at the Pier.

The three unknown guys in the main centre of the shot decided to photo bomb my picture, but they have added a certain 'something' to the shot me thinks - Thanks Guys!

I had arrived at the Raven Fork River and was amazed at the beauty down in the cove. The old steel bridge, a remnant of days gone by, crossing over the river, led to the continuance of the trail on the other side ascending up the mountainside to Enloe Creek Falls. At this time the sun was very bright and there was overly extreme contrast between the light and shadows here, but I did my best to get a photo anyway. I had already come this far, and for a scene and setting so beautiful as this, I couldn't resist. At least you can get a perspective of the setting. This area is completely remote, secluded and set apart deep in the Smoky Mountain wilderness.

We had some nicer weather today, sunshine and a lovely blue sky. I wish I had had more time to enjoy it, these kind of miracles should really happen on weekends, but at least the cats could make the best of it. Here is Sethi who decided that it was safe to venture outside when he noticed that the snow started to disappear. :)

I had a chip on my shoulder, had to let it go

'Cause unforgiveness keeps them in control

I came in with good intentions, then I let it go

And now I really wanna know

But what if I, what if I trip?

What if I, what if I fall?

Then am I the monster?

Just let me know

And what if I, what if I sin?

And what if I, what if I break?

Then am I the monster?

Just let me know,

Had a very fun time creaitng a subframe for Flickr Friday using our tiger lilies that just bloomed today and the tiny, high in the sky, wild fire smoke inhibited sun.

Had a great opportunity with this guy and he spent a nice long time hunting the canal below him and of course without any luck, ugh.

Thank you all so very much for the visit everyone, it is always very much appreciated.

I had a last minute invite down to Eastbourne pier for a sunrise shoot and I couldn't say no to that. There were no strong reds or oranges to be seen because of the nature of the clouds but it was worth the early start I think!

I had to check and am pretty sure this is an immature Coopers Hawk. I thought from pictures it might have been a Sharp Shinned, but the markings on the chest convince me otherwise. I'm perfectly open to being corrected if any of you think otherwise. I got lucky with this hawk as I saw it coming from a distance and was able get it in the frame for a long series of shots. This one is my favorite because of the way the light is striking its head.

Had a good day with this species on Saturday folks, and they were a little scarce during these summer slow downs, but will save some for later. Hope your Sunday and weekend was a good one and that everyone stayed well and safe.

Thanks for the visit, and as always it is great appreciated.

We have not had much rain this summer in spite of the many spectacular clouds. We are in a drought in the South West and especially Arizona. We did finally get some rain in the beginning of July and the end of summer. but was too late to turn the country side green :) I thought for sure with these clouds this day it would rain but it didn't :) This area is normally very green this time of year and spectacular to view. But I enjoyed the ride anyway and the beautiful view and just hope the rain comes back next year. Oh by the way, this is my one thousandth photo I have posted on Flickr since I joined in 2011 :) I wanted to post a photo that I love and would remember this day on so I posted my favorite vehicle of all times, the Jeep Gladiator Mojave in the spectacular White Mountains! The time on Flickr has been very enjoyable with all the friends I have made and made photography so much fun but also amazing how time flies :) Have a wonderful day and keep clicking away :)

I had debated on cropping the lhs so the bothy was on the third, but that took away a big chunk of mountain which I thought led in well. Would be interested on any thoughts on whether cropping might have worked better?

Had to show some love to Jas , The Forge and MadPea! I love the post apocalyptic scenario, so a chain saw as a sword a shotgun and a necklace grenade fits perfectly together!

Had such close encounters with several bobcats last time in northern California...shortly after i took this shot this bobcat went to sleep just in front of me...

Had the chance this past weekend of photographing this magnificent Trakehner stallion.

I had fun shooting Agent Shadow at 800 iso with an orange filter. I also used the excellent auto aperture to save me some time.

This photo shot using Nikon D700 and Tamron adaptall 2 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 CF Macro

Had fun yesterday night, watching the lunar eclipse. It was pretty cold outside. The first image I took was at 8:30, The last was at 11:15. I tried to be faithful and take a shot on a regular basis, but I was playing with my grandson in between, so.... Didn't work out exactly lol. Still had a good learning experience. Hope you had a chance to see it.

We had some time on our hands and took a back road up and out of Fort William on the Old Military road. And as we went over the brow, Fort William and the top of Loch Linnhe behind us, the world changed into this. We never found out how far the little road that became narrower and bumpier went, but it became more and more beautiful. I think this was Lochan Lunn da-Bhra and the remote white country house, Lundavra. If we had been on foot we might have got through the mountains to Kinlochleven. I might save that for my next life. For now, I would be happy to just sit on that hillock, like that lone sheep, (left of centre) and enjoy the tranquility and view

Had a chance for a few photos tonight, hoped the sunset would develop but a big bank of cloud came instead!

A bit disappointed to find that my sensor has not been cleaned when the camera was in for its repair!

Had another play in Coral Painter Essentials 5. I used an "oil painting" effect on these flamingos. I took the original on a visit to the local Wildlife Park back in July.

The original was captured on my Sony A580

I had to revert to a photo of Charlie Brown today, taken in August when he and Leo spend a week at our home, as I had no time for new cat photos today and our cats seem to hibernate anyway. The butterfly above Charlie's head is an old and rusty garden decoration and looks bigger in this photo than it really is. As it doesn't move, Charlie wasn't interested in it at all. :)

Though it had been raining in the early morning, and was still overcast, it was uncannily warm with not a breath of breeze.

The chicks must have been extra hungry for this feeding, for it's the only one where I caught extra effort to grab mom's attention to be fed first. They are now covered in pin feathers. (Anna's Hummingbird, Tsehum Harbour).

Please don't use this image on websites, blogs, etc. without my permission.

Had to pop back for a few more shots. Will probably be the last time we see him, Hopefully he will make it back for another year.

Had to turn iso up today

She had bits of soul in everything, from her laugh to her tears

And in a world of plastic smiles and corrugated feelings

You couldn’t help but feel it…

Had a close encounter with Luxemburgs finest on the way out of this old farm. Didn't had anything on me so they searched for something to serve and protect. 150 euro's for not having a safety vest in my car. Got to respect that! They were concerned about my safety of course :-) Also asked me about the telescopic ladder in the car, where i use it for. Uhhm, i don't know, it didn't come with a manual. 150 faves please!

It had to be you

Isham Jones. 1924

Why do I do, just as you say

Why must I just, give you your way

Why do I sigh, why don't I try to forget

It must have been,

That something lovers call fate

Kept me saying, "I have to wait"

I saw them all,

Just couldn't fall 'til we met

It had to be you, it had to be you

I wandered around, and finally found

The somebody who...

Had to take the ride....nice place !

Had to stop and get some photos of this beautiful sunflower field near where i live, what a sight!!

Had to show some where my red heart is hanging behind my feeder post. Nice when the birds land. Especially the male cardinals.

Had a very decent day today everyone, and am so so glad I ventured out in spite of what the weatherman said, besides it's always a great feeling being out and about.

Thank you all so very very much for visiting and it is always so very much appreciated.

Had some fun making this photo with MushyMushy today. Thanks for posing with me Mushy.

The Civil Wars - I Had Me a Girl

"I had me a boy

Who buttoned me down

Drew me a line

He, he washed me as clean

As a sinner could be

Showed me the light

Oh that boy, he taught me to pray

But for all of his spit-shinin’ ways

Lord, he could

Oooooooo

Ooooooohhhhohhhh

Ooooooo

Ooooohhhhhhhhhh"

Back before I had ME I used to enjoy a bit of fell walking. I'd not been to the Lakes for 9 years, so last July (2021) I decided to go and revisit Wasdale, camping for 4 nights at the National Trust campsite at Wasdale Head.

It was lovely to be back, but I thought I'd do a relatively medium level shortish walk on the first day, so I decided to go over the top of the Wastwater Screes, via the summits of Illgill Head and Whin Rigg, returning to the campsite via the so called "path" at the base of the Screes. I'd done it before, way back in 1997.

My legs were aching after the steep descent from Whin Rigg, to the lower end of Wastwater and a wiser head would have walked back to the campsite along the lakeside road on the opposite shore. But not this intrepid old twit. After some awkward scrambling over several of the more recent and seemingly never ending scree fans, I could barely walk, for the next few days, which somewhat curtailed my plans for a high level walk or two!

Distant peaks from left to right, Red Pike, Yewbarrow, KIrk Fell and Great Gable.

It was still great to be back though!

Thank you for your faves and comments!

Had to have a play today. This is Crummock Water, electrified ! Now, let me think, what did I do? No, can't remember everything. But this involved Topaz Simplify, and a new bit of software I'm trying out before committing myself to a financial outlay, AKVIS Neon. Finished off in Picasa and then PicMonkey for the final touches. The starting photograph was really rather dull, but the sky was nice, I like the dead tree on the shore and the drystone wall, and this is the final result. Some of you will hate this, so .... apologies to you for neglecting you while I played :o)

The title is a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, for those of you who are confused. Don't worry - I am confused most of the time !

We had bright sunshine on this day, which seemed ideal to capture this fun metal spring. I like tiny springs. The Laowa 2:1 macro lens needs much light.

Our state governor has called for a mask mandate, but hospitals here continue to accept Covid patients from other states where masks and other cautionary measures are not required. Back to macro and avoiding the news.

Stay safe and healthy, whever you are.

i had a great night last might watching Afro Celt Soundsystem in Cardiff. Their music is infectious and so full of life and colour so I needed a photo to try and give that sense of fun and life affirming enthusiasm. After so much dancing everyone was Breathless, by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Had a great day walking and scrambling along the Castlemartin range in Pembrokeshire. Had a birthday picnic with this classic view, and the short turf was clothed in Devil's bit scabious flowers, which were alive with Small Tortoiseshell, Painted Lady, Common Blues and a few Silver studded blues. Couldn't be much better. From the sea to the land beyond is a title for a great film, and soundtrack by British Sea Power.

I had not planned to shoot sunrise as I was here to shoot Wat Hong Thong. To have this scene behind the temple would mean I would have to shoot from the water and here the water is much deeper than shooting in the Great Salt Lake. So no dramatic sunrise backdrop for the temple.

The light on the sticks is from temple lights.

When planning to visit Wat Hong Thong, you really want to make sure its high tide, low tide is muddy and not as interesting (in my mind).

Had a stop at this well known waterfall on my way back home from Jotunheimen a couple of weeks back, and pulled out my wide angle lense for the first time in a long time! Had hoped for some more autumn colors, but apart from that the conditions were nice! Hope you like it and wish you a nice sunday evening!
