1905 Mizzi Günther as Hanna Glawari and Sigmund Natzler [1862 – 1913] as Baron Mirko Zeta in The Merry Widow in the roles they created.

 

She was born in Varnsdorf, Bohemia on 8th Feb 1879 and died in Vienna, Austria on 18th March 1961.

 

She created the title role of Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow [Die Lustige Witwe ] at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna on 30th Dec 1905 conducted by the composer.

He is camera shy so it's hard to get photos of him. More to come........

After an hour of this they are both passed out on the deck.

What the picture did not capture was the sound that came out of his mouth...

This is really not a good picture at all.

But the pose makes me laugh...he looks like a man taking a really big step.

St. Florian, from an illuminated Book of Hours from Salzburg, Austria, from ca. 1450 to 1460, is depicted in an armour of the day. Note the later kastenbrust-breastplate, the typical deep bell-shaped fauld of the 1440s, 1450s with two large integral tassets, and the symmetrical pauldrons.

By the 1460s the fashion in armour in most of the (southern) German lands would become more influenced by Italian tastes, still following its own course with a lot of fluting (so-called 'gothic') and a symmetrical outline regarding the pauldrons instead of the asymmetrical Italian style.
