The Museum of Art was open and giving free tours. Our guide was Jill, and she was terrific!
If you're at all familiar with my photos, you might notice that I seldom take pictures of people. There's a reason: I'm not good at people shots. Unfortunately, the shot I took of Jill falls into that category, so I tinkered with it and made an "artistic rendition." Sorry, Jill! Thanks for the great afternoon!

My weather comfort zone ranges widely, so when the rope is still or wet or invisible or dry, I'm fine. But when it starts to move, my weather alerts go up. And if I see that it's gone... I'm outta here, too! :-)

Tane Mahuta Kauri tree
Waipoua Kauri Forest
New Zealand, North Island
Tāne Mahuta, also called God of the Forest, is a giant kauri tree (Agathis australis) in the Waipoua Forest of Northland Region, New Zealand. Its age is unknown but is estimated to be between 1,250 and 2,500 years. It is the largest kauri known to stand today. It is named for the Māori god of forests and of birds. (Wikipedia)
This tree really impressed me. When I first saw it, I felt just like this friendly Mexican women I met those days, who told me that she had to come back secretly and admire Tane Mahuta, since she somehow felt the need to worship the tree, even though in real life she's not a religious person. I felt the same way.
So open your eyes and see The way our horizons meet And all of the lights will lead Into the night with me And I know these scars will bleed But both of our hearts believe All of these stars will guide us home via 500px ift.tt/1Qog5MC
I made it a point to take picture of all my tour guides while I was abroad. I wanted to remember these strangers who showed me around a new place. This man led our group through Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and Bath. He was the quintessential Englishman.
