The guide book, inlcuding text, adverts and recipes, for the annual Food Fair held at London's Olympia and promoted by the Food Manufacturers' Federation and sponsored by the Daily Express. This is the 1960 edition and includes sections on British producers as well as Continental importers along with information on both US and Canadian foods, the latter having just been freed from 20 years of restrictions. As well as descriptions of many companies there are numerous adverts.

These two adverts are for food producers Drings Ltd. of London and Sutherlands Foods of Sheffield. The latter were a well known brand of paste and sandwich spread manufacturers whose little jars, with the pressure lockec caps, were familiar in so many British shops and larders. Drings, manufacturing sausages and 'hot dogs' were based in the industrial estate that sat next to the old Empire Stadium in Wembley, the remains of the 1924/5 Empire Exhibition Grounds.

Another rushed picture this evening - a mad 13 hours at college and my brain is fried and it's dark and cold outside.

My art inspiration comes from many and varied sources, but one of them is my 'library'. This consists of an overflowing bookcase drowning in books.

My main source of inspiration is just being outside on walks (Mother Nature never fails to inspire/amaze). Other sources include Flickr (probably the second most important source) and Twitter, (then books), then objects in shops, then exhibitions, galleries, and the press.

Luxury vinyl plank has surged in popularity in recent years, and it’s not hard to see why. This versatile flooring option offers a range of benefits that can be perfect for any home. It can be used in a number of spaces, from traditional homes to contemporary lofts. This type of flooring offers a realistic wood look and feel without all of the hassle.

It’s no secret that luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is one of today’s hottest flooring trends. But what do you need to know about this versatile material before choosing it for your home?

This ultimate guide will cover everything from installation tips to design ideas. So whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, read on for all the info you need to make the right decision for your space. Let’s get started!

What Is a Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)?

A luxury vinyl plank, or LVP, is a type of flooring made to look like wood. It is made of vinyl, so it is durable and water-resistant. LVP is an excellent choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-traffic areas.

This is a smart alternative for homeowners who want the look of hardwood flooring without spending thousands of dollars or hiring a contractor. Luxury vinyl planks are very easy to install on your own, so they are a great option for people who like do-it-yourself projects.

There are many different types of LVP, so you can find one that fits your style and budget. Some luxury vinyl planks have a textured surface that looks like real wood, while others are smooth. Some are even embossed with realistic textures that give them a three-dimensional look.

Luxury vinyl planks are also available in a variety of colors and styles. You can find versions that match any decor, from the traditional to the modern and contemporary. LVP also comes in different shapes, such as rectangles, squares, and herringbones.

How Is LVP Made?

Luxury vinyl plank (Lvp) is made by combining a synthetic material with natural materials. The synthetic material can be plastic or resin, and the natural materials can be wood, bamboo, cork, or limestone. The two materials are combined in a press and heated until they form a sheet. The sheets are then printed to look like wood grain, and they’re bonded together with adhesives that are meant to mimic the properties of wood. This sheet is then cut into planks, which are then sealed and finished.

It takes around 6 months to produce Lvp. Three layers are sprayed onto a spinning cylinder, which gets coated in resin before each layer goes down. After everything dries, the planks are sliced into different sizes. All of the finishing touches take place at this point. Planks can be polished or given a film finish before they’re packaged for shipping.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (Lvp) is more durable than hardwood flooring but not as durable as solid vinyl planks. It can be installed almost anywhere and on all surfaces.

The Different Types of Vinyl Flooring

Waterproof Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring is a reliable and economical option for those looking to go with something durable, flexible, but also tough. This type of material comes in many different patterns, which you can find at low prices, all while being maintenance-free!

Good quality vinyl can withstand Multiple years of wear without showing any signs that it will ever need replacing. The protective layer on top can protect your investment from scratches and stains for up to 15 years, so you don’t have to worry about any costly repairs!

Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)

Luxury vinyl tile, or LVT, is a type of vinyl flooring that has become increasingly popular. It offers the look and feels of real wood or stone flooring without a high price tag. LVT is available in a variety of colors and styles, so you can find one that will perfectly match your décor.

One of the most significant benefits of LVT is that it is extremely durable. It can withstand heavy traffic and is resistant to scratches and stains. Additionally, the material is relatively easy to clean and requires minimal maintenance.

Waterproof Laminate Flooring

If you’re looking for a floor that’s easy to care for and maintain, laminate is an excellent solution. The top wear layers are reinforced with highly stable compressed fibers, making them more durable than other types of wood or ceramic tile.

Plus, there are styles galore! You can choose from everything from patterns (like tiles) to colors—just about anything your heart desires when it comes down right now; what kind of room will suit best inside and out?

Linoleum Flooring

When it comes to flooring, you might presume that there’s not much difference between linoleum and other types. But the reality is each aspect of this product makes it stand out! The eco-friendly option for your home, linoleum, is made from renewable and biodegradable components.

Linoleum is a great way to add comfort and durability to your home. It can be used for installation as tiles or laminated strips, which means you’ll never need another flooring option again! With the protective coatings offered by some manufacturers, it will also withstand heavy foot traffic without staining easily.

Cork Flooring

Cork flooring is a type of flooring made from the bark of cork oak trees. The bark is harvested every nine years, and it takes about 25 years for a cork oak tree to reach maturity. Cork flooring is a good choice for people who want flooring material that is eco-friendly and sustainable.

Cork flooring is also a good choice for people who want a flooring material that is soft and comfortable. Cork flooring can be installed in various ways, including floating cork floors and glue-down cork floors. Floating cork floors are the easiest type of cork floor to install, and they are also the most popular type of cork floor.

How to Install LVP Flooring

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring is a popular choice for flooring in many homes today. It is a great way to update your home without spending much money. This type of flooring is made to look and feel like natural wood, but it is much more durable and easier to maintain. If you are considering installing LVP flooring in your home, here are some tips to help you get started:

Remove the old flooring. If your floor is currently covered in carpeting, you will need to remove it before you can install your new LVP floor. You may also need to remove other types of flooring in the room, such as paneling and tile.

Hire a pro: If you’re concerned about how much work is involved with removing the old flooring, you can always hire a pro to do it for you.

Make any necessary repairs. Before installing the new LVP flooring, there may be some broken boards or other types of damage that need to be repaired first. Use wood filler and caulk to fix gaps between boards during this process so your finished look will be seamless.

Choose the right type of LVP flooring. Not all types of LVP flooring are the same – some are better suited for high-traffic areas, while others are better for bedrooms or living rooms. Make sure to choose the type of flooring that is best suited for your needs.

Measure the area. You need to measure the dimensions of the room and make a note of any obstacles (such as furniture) that may prevent you from installing the flooring in its entirety.

Lay down the underlayment. The best way to protect your new LVP flooring is by using an underlayment, and you have a variety of choices. If your existing floor is concrete, an underlayment made of cement board will work well. Plywood paneling can also be durable underlayment for LVP flooring on concrete floors. If your current floor consists of hardwood planks, you may want to use plywood paneling to lay down an underlayment.

Layout your flooring where you want it. Once your prep work is complete and the underlay material has been installed, you can begin laying out the flooring in the room. Be sure to keep it organized, ensuring that all pieces are accounted for, and there are no gaps left between them.

Make the final cuts to ensure a perfect fit. Once your LVP flooring has been laid and secured, you should test it and make any necessary adjustments before finishing the installation. To do this, simply place heavy items on top of your flooring to weigh it down and help it lay flat without any gaps between pieces that would require cutting.

Enjoy your beautiful new LVP flooring. Now that your floor is installed, you can enjoy its beauty and durability for years to come.

LVP Tips & Tricks

As far as luxury vinyl plank flooring is concerned, there are a few things you should know before making your purchase. Check out these valuable LVP tips and tricks to help you make the right decision:

Make sure you have the necessary tools for the job. LVP installation is a lot easier than traditional hardwood, but you’ll still need some basic tools, including a tape measure, level, and saw.

Choose the right color and style. Various colors and styles are available, so make sure you pick one that will complement your home’s décor.

Measure your space carefully. It’s essential to get accurate measurements before ordering your LVP, as mistakes can be costly and difficult to correct.

Plan ahead for installation. The best way to ensure a successful LVP installation is to plan the job carefully and leave yourself plenty of time.

Give your flooring proper care and maintenance. Your LVP needs just as much love and attention as any other flooring, so be sure to clean it thoroughly and give it the protection it deserves.
