Me along with a small gaggle of troops, all airmen 3rd class, were missent to Naha Air Base in Okinawa for three months, June, July, & August. Hoooootttt.....Huuuuuummmmiddd. We did all kind of odd jobs and of course none of us were ever promoted, we all left in August with that one lonely stripe on our arms. But, every Saturday was USO tour day!!! If it wasn't for the USO in Naha, those three months would have been like three years.
The star of Bethlehem was a star of hope that led the wise men to the fulfillment of their expectations, the success of their expedition. Nothing in this world is more fundamental for success in life than hope, and this star pointed to our only source for true hope: Jesus Christ.

世界観が変わりすぎて、みなさんにお叱り受けそうだな・・・と思いながら加工していました。最初はクマで渋い加工と張り切っていたのにいつの間にかファンタジックな流れに。

We name the same constellation diversely, as Charles’s Wain, the Great Bear, or the Dipper. None of the names will be false, and one will be as true as another, for all are applicable.
In all these cases we humanly make an addition to some sensible reality, and that reality tolerates the addition. All the additions ‘agree’ with the reality; they fit it, while they build it out. No one of them is false. Which may be treated as the more true, depends altogether on the human use of it. If the 27 is a number of dollars which I find in a drawer where I had left 28, it is 28 minus 1. If it is the number of inches in a shelf which I wish to insert into a cupboard 26 inches wide, it is 26 plus 1. If I wish to ennoble the heavens by the constellations I see there, ‘Charles’s Wain’ would be more true than ‘Dipper.’ ... ...
What shall we call a THING anyhow? It seems quite arbitrary, for we carve out everything, just as we carve out constellations, to suit our human purposes. For me, this whole ‘audience’ is one thing, which grows now restless, now attentive. I have no use at present for its individual units, so I don’t consider them. So of an ‘army,’ of a ‘nation.’ But in your own eyes, ladies and gentlemen, to call you ‘audience’ is an accidental way of taking you. The permanently real things for you are your individual persons. To an anatomist, again, those persons are but organisms, and the real things are the organs. Not the organs, so much as their constituent cells, say the histologists; not the cells, but their molecules, say in turn the chemists."

Passing under the heavy duty remnants of the former 1500v DC Woodhead Route catenary, Northern 142064 slows for the stop at Guide Bridge. A very busy spot that sees eight stoppers, four non-stop and a freight in the hour after this train.
The line to left is the normally freight only (plus weekly parliamentarian train) line to Heaton Norris Jct via Denton.

Another dark but atmospheric shot, note Stan's butties next to the train brake, the brew can and preffered mug, the newspaper at the back of the console and my 135mm Yashica lens next to the brew can! Stan was an ex Macclesfield man and kept chickens - hence the nickname, very nice eggs, too!

Our town guides, led by our friend Nick, won the Queen's Award for voluntary service. I was asked to take photos for the local paper and here they are in the High Street. I was on the Guildhall balcony. Some of the walks are costumed and the guides on the left are wearing their costumes. Nick, in a white shirt at the front, and his wife Val in the big hat, were invited to a Buckingham Palace Garden Party and are wearing their party outfits.
