Guide Bridge. A few months before I joined the railways. Ended up working with Ken a few times, and have the odd pint with him. His nickname was 'The Destroyer', not because of driving technique or any incident - he was always 'after a sub'!
I think the type 2 is 25197, not that it matters at this distance! Ken is the main subject! He suffered from the right hand 'iron claw' from many years driving the Hadfield units with their awful deadman's device in the power handle.

Guide Friday
Stratford-upon-Avon, 30 May 2001
New to Bostocks, Congleton
A single-deck coach is not a type usually associated with Guide Friday, but this one was used as a driver training vehicle in the early 2000s. It came here from the troubled pre-Status Group incarnation of Stratford Blue, which was a trading name of Dynamo Travel. After Ensign took over, it was despatched to the Purfleet dealership but appears not to have found another operator.
Photographed using the Kodak EasyLoad 35 KE60, and Kodak Gold 200 film.
Taken in Mount Dandenong, Victoria, Australia.
Photograph taken in the magic of the Golden Hour of sunrise at 06:51am on September 9th 2011 off Bevan Avenue and 1st Street beside the Bevan Avenue fishing pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō) is Japan's capital and the world's most populous metropolis. It is also one of Japan's 47 prefectures, consisting of 23 central city wards and multiple cities, towns and villages west of the city center. The Izu and Ogasawara Islands are also part of Tokyo.
Prior to 1868, Tokyo was known as Edo. A small castle town in the 16th century, Edo became Japan's political center in 1603 when Tokugawa Ieyasu established his feudal government there. A few decades later, Edo had grown into one of the world's most populous cities. With the Meiji Restoration of 1868, the emperor and capital moved from Kyoto to Edo, which was renamed Tokyo ("Eastern Capital"). Large parts of Tokyo were destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 and in the air raids of 1945.
Today, Tokyo offers a seemingly unlimited choice of shopping, entertainment, culture and dining to its visitors. The city's history can be appreciated in districts such as Asakusa and in many excellent museums, historic temples and gardens. Contrary to common perception, Tokyo also offers a number of attractive green spaces in the city center and within relatively short train rides at its outskirts.

A couple of weeks before I joined the railway, I used to travel from Guide Bridge to Stockport to work at the Infirmary and knowing that the Adex (advertised excursion) was picking up from both places, used it to go to work! The driver was Colin Flood, who I knew as a fellow punter in The Nelson, next to Stockport Infirmary!
Some 'sad bags' on the quayside, the exec case (containing timetable, notes and four cans of beer) is mine! Just arrived at Mallaig by train from Glasgow and about to board this on the twice weekly direct service to Kyle that meant you could do the Mallaig line and the Kyle line in one day!

The Blind Guide, Tim Lowly © 1988, tempera and mixed media on constructed* panel, 14" x 12", private collection.
*The panel is three dimensional: the bottom part sticks out a bit and the arch is somewhat concave. Additionally, the cat and the curtains are in sculpted low relief. Crazy. As usual.
