ZANDVOORT AAN ZEE - At the end of 2007, the Coast Guard (Kustwacht) took the two current aircraft into service. These Dornier Do228s are managed by Defense, which also supplies some of the crew members. The Dorniers are mainly used for control and observation flights over the North Sea. Incidentally, the aircraft are also deployed elsewhere in Europe, such as recently above Greece. Schiphol Airport is home to the Coast Guard.

As you trick or treat this year, you might want to be extra careful of avoiding this dog. He's obviously very hungry and will be glad to meet you at the door, lol.

Santa Ifigenia Cemetery (Spanish: Cementerio Santa Ifigenia) is a cemetery in Santiago de Cuba and resting place of a few notable Cubans inluding Fidel Castro.
The cemetery opened in 1868 to replace smaller Cemetery of Santa Ana.[1]
The signature resting place is that of José Martí, whose mausoleum is guarded by three Cuban soldiers at the entrance. A round-the-clock guard of the mausoleum is changed, amid much pomp and ceremony, every 30 minutes.

On our recent North Carolina trip we decided to take a pontoon boat ride down the Intracoastal Waterway. The tour boat was rocking around quite a bit that morning, but I did manage to capture this osprey nest atop one of the channel markers.
She was none too happy about our boat even approaching the marker, even though we were just cruising by. This time of year it's not uncommon for the nests to be housing Osprey chicks, as breeding season is from March to May in the Carolinas.
They are very beautiful (in an angry bird sort of way), and certainly a bit of a challenge to photograph w/ only a pair of sea legs to help keep things steady! ;)
