Not only is my day 100, but I've learned today that a piece of short short fiction is to be published in a literary magazine for teenagers. How awesome :)
And this is sooc, just so ya know.
This flower is growing on a nothing plant in our garden, that most of the year is dull and uninteresting. However, every summer it puts out enough pretty (IMHO) flowers that we don't replace it.
Lighting: I placed it on a sheet of black Perspex, and lit it from the left side with a Yongnuo flash in a 24 inch soft box. The flash, in manual mode, is triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.
I've photographed a lot of plants and flowers, because they're all around us, work cheap, and never complain. I have an album of these images with over 800 pictures, and for each one, I have described how I lit them, in case you're interested in that kind of thing.
This shot was taken on the east bank of crag lough,a beautiful expanse of water, flanked on one side by highshields crags along which runs the famous 'hadrians wall'.

A room without plants is a dead space to me. So getting this pelargonium to do anything other than keel over has been a great satisfaction. The flowers just appeared overnight.
Re-potting all my plants a fortnight ago seems to be what they all wanted. The echevaria has done so well it produced 6 pups, which are now in troughs.
I don't have a garden and window-boxes appear to be verboten, so this will have to do.
Mallard duckling (Anas platyrhynchos)
The ducklings on the local pond are growing up fast.
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes for Bruce, He is brighter today, after he refused his dinner the other night, which is something he never does, I was really worried about him, he still has sickness and an upset tummy, but last night he had a small amount of chicken and mash potato and he has had roast chicken and pasta for dinner tonight .
Thank you for your comments, take care, stay safe and have a wonderful evening !!

Archie at 7 months old and growing very fast indeed. Now weighing in at 3kg and soon to be separated from his assets at the vets - but don't tell him! Wishing all of my Flickr friends a fabulous weekend ahead - keep shooting!
I haven't been able to dive for the last couple weekends d/t high surt, but this Saturday I went to Honaunau Bay to check on my frogfish friend. It has grown bulkier and darker and has added a couple more brown spots. Visibility was awful and this was the only decent shot I got. I hope to continue documenting this fish as it grows.

Today's word over at Creativity Boot Camp is grow. I represented the word by choosing to do something that we are all trying to do-grow creatively. For me personally I have a tendency to get into everything. I scrapbook, crochet, quilt, garden, and now photography. I have been working on my still life throughout this project an area that I was feeling uncomfortable with-and after four day I am already starting to get more inspired creatively in this area and feel more comfortable.
Here is one the greenhouses, where they grow pineapple on the Azores.
It takes two years to grow a pineapple and different stages. You can see the blossom in red in the middle of the plant. So these plants need another six months to finally produce their fruit.
Hey !...It's almost September ....Cooler weather is just around the corner ...I may just have to let my beard keep on growing untrimmed through the Winter and see how long it will get :-)
One of the 6 Mallard ducklings which have so far avoided the gulls thanks to a very protective mother. Shaking down after a swim
