Related to the 'looking up' trunk posted just before. This little grove stands beside the creek and is part of my daily walk on campus. Always a pleasure!
Redwoods live and grow in little families. I seem to recall a circle of about 7 is common, all related to a 'mother tree'. The family connection is underground.

Black rock at Ocean Grove. This is one of my favorite fishing spot. Fishing into Bass Straight, this area is often harsh but when possible, provides a very productive fishing location. Diving here has also yield a nice rock lobster.
The siding signal at the north end of Clarks Grove protects the mainline while an empty northbound coke train patiently waits for two trains heading south.

From a few days ago. It's probably completely frozen by now. Grover Lake connects with Sheehan Lake via Sheehan Run, which continues on to Grand Lake. In the summer, I like to swim here, but it's hard to get my head around having such nice warm water just a month or so ago, and now it's frozen over...

I have photographed these three walnut trees before, in a different season -- August or September, I think. At that time the color palette was all green, and the morning light still had some gold in it.

Excursion train at New Hope.
Willow Grove PA is celebrating it 300th anniversary and part of the tri-centennial celebration included an excursion from Willow Grove to New Hope over SEPTA and New Hope and Ivyland rails. The rip was to be behind steam, however NH&I 40 was being repaired and not available for the trip.
