Hunting grounds for both the bird and the photographer ...
I don't know if the bird got it's catch but I certainly did.
Todmorden Unitarian Church
This church is a Grade 1 Listed Building overlooking the town. It is perched high on a hill in an imposing position and can be seen for miles around, helped by the spire, which increases its height by a further 192 feet. Reached by a long winding drive starting at a gatehouse, it looks more like an Anglican Cathedral than a non-conformist chapel. Even the gatehouse is a listed building. The church stands in its own substantial landscaped grounds and has a large burial ground on the wooded slopes behind the building.

Maybe not as spectacular as some of the Thailand moths but still quite attractive with forewings varying in colour from green to brown.

All my insect pics are one shot, hand-held macros of live insects in the wild.
This golden-crowned sparrow was one of several that would venture out of the grass onto the edge of the path for a bite, then go back in if perceived danger was detected. Spotted at Jackson Bottom wetlands.
A view of the fabulous 17th century gatehouse from inside the castle grounds, Stokesay castle, Shropshire.
This really is a splendid place, meticulously maintained. We celebrated my wife's birthday at their outdoor restaurant, then spent an hour or more walking the grounds.
www.sanysidroranch.com/ has all the details. We stayed here on our honeymoon. Rates have risen *significantly* since then.
A view of a portion of the grounds surrounding the 17th Century Buddhist Choshoji Temple in Aomori City in the far north prefecture on Japan's main island of Honshu.
Sometimes it just sticks its tongue out at you.

Spotted this little visitor on my deck one afternoon in April, 2018. Looks as though he wasn’t pleased with having a camera pointed in his face ;-)

Allen’s Hummingbird:
In early spring, a narrow strip of scrub and chaparral along the Pacific Coast starts buzzing with the sights and sounds of the coppery and green Allen's Hummingbird.
Males flash their brilliant reddish orange throat and put on an elaborate show for the females, swinging in pendulous arcs before climbing high into the sky and diving back down with a sharp squeal made by their tails.
These early migrants mostly spend the winter in Mexico, but some stay in southern California year-round.
Allen's Hummingbirds breed in a narrow strip of habitat along coastal Oregon and California.
Male and female Allen's Hummingbirds use different habitats during the breeding season. The male sets up a territory overseeing open areas of coastal scrub or chaparral, where he perches conspicuously on exposed branches. The female visits these areas, but after mating she heads into thickets or forests to build a nest and raise the young.
The Allen's Hummingbird is a remarkably early migrant compared with most North American birds. Northbound birds may depart their wintering grounds as early as December, arriving on their breeding grounds as early as January when winter rains produce an abundance of flowers.
Like other birds, Allen's Hummingbirds use their feet to help control their body temperature. When it's cold outside they tuck their feet up against their bellies while flying, but when temperatures soar, they let their feet dangle to cool down.
The oldest recorded Allen's Hummingbird was at least 5 years old when she was captured and re-released in California during banding operations in 2009. She was banded in the same state in 2004.

The famous Balinese island-temple of Tanah Lot seen from the fabulous grounds of the Pan Pacific Nirwana resort which is surrounded by its own golf course. ( Not a very good low resolution photo but thought I'll include this to end my present series on Bali ).

Southern Africa
The wildebeest also called the gnu is an antelope in the genus Connochaetes native to Eastern and Southern Africa. It belongs to the family Bovidae, which includes antelopes, cattle, goats, sheep, and other even-toed horned ungulates.
Connochaetes includes two species, both native to Africa: the black wildebeest or white-tailed gnu (C. gnou), and the blue wildebeest or brindled gnu (C. taurinus).
In East Africa, the blue wildebeest is the most abundant big-game species; some populations perform an annual migration to new grazing grounds, but the black wildebeest is merely nomadic. Breeding in both takes place over a short period of time at the end of the rainy season and the calves are soon active and are able to move with the herd, a fact necessary for their survival. Nevertheless, some fall prey to large carnivores, especially the spotted hyena.
Wildebeest often graze in mixed herds with zebra, which gives heightened awareness of potential predators. They are also alert to the warning signals emitted by other animals such as baboons.
Some illegal hunting goes on but the population trend is fairly stable and some populations are in national parks or on private land. The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists both as least-concern species. – Wikipedia
Berkeley Castle is a castle in the town of Berkeley, Gloucestershire, UK. The castle's origins date back to the 11th century, and it has been designated by English Heritage as a grade I listed building.
The castle has remained within the Berkeley family since they reconstructed it in the 12th century, except for a period of royal ownership by the Tudors. It is traditionally believed to have been the scene of the murder of King Edward II in 1327.
In 1956 Berkeley Castle was opened to visitors and remains open today.

Do you like to get lost? Doing so at the close by mountain peak called Lisja Stjena ( Fox peak) back home it’s not that difficult to do. Chasing light at 1400m (4600ft) above the see level never gets dull. This particular trail brings a ton of feelings back and getting lost again in this beautiful landscapes is really exciting. What do you think?
I never seen so many Eastern Meadowlarks in one place. You couldn't count them. Burlington Fair Grounds, Columbus NJ.
Rusting train engine on the grounds of the Train Museum in Snoqualmie, Washington.
Most people probably go to the Train Museum in Snoqualmie, Washington for the train rides and for a visit to the quaint train station that is now a museum, but about a mile away on the road to the town center is 50 yards of decaying, rusting train cars full of fascinating textures.
Unfortunately, the train is about 30 feet behind a chain link fence, but I got some decent shots using a telephoto while walking along the elevated highway that runs parallel to the tracks. I was lucky that the sun was almost directly overhead and casting perfect shadows for about 20 minutes before the surfaces were in shadows for the day.

A walk around the grounds around University of Canterbury club (Ilam). Some of the flowers are now past their prime but still a relaxing scene.
Evagelistria Monastery, the largest on Skiathos, is surrounded by beautiful grounds. It also served as a safe haven from invaders, hence the heavily fortified entrance gate.
Sculpture of J. Seward Johnson "Lakeside Table #1" (Grounds For Sculpture, Hamilton, NJ)
J. Seward Johnson is best known for his life-size bronze statues, such as twenty-five-foot "Unconditional Surrender", based on a photograph "Kissing the War Goodbye" by Victor Jorgensen, "The Awakening", "Double Check ", "Hitchhiker", "Allow Me", "Déjeuner Déjà Vu"," First Ride". These sculptures have been placed in public settings throughout the world.

Traveling across the country, especially past the Mississippi River, wind turbines are much more prevalent than in the eastern portion of the country where wide open spaces are few and far in between. UP YPR60B departs for Cragin after finishing its work at the Tribune and Blommer. The U-Haul facility on the right has been vacated for redevelopment around the future site of Bally's Casino. The Tribune is expected to vacate the Freedom Center by July meaning that rail shipments will end sometime before that.
