The South Gare near Redcar. An industrial landscape with the old blast furness in the background, the huts traditionally belonged to the fisherman are all the same shade of green, protected now after the local council I think wanted to bulldoze them all a few years ago. Scarred by industry over the years has left this area a very rich spot for a that way inclined photographer.

Mini Reaper Tip Jar

Floating with a magical smoke beneath him

A beautiful effect of electric particles and sound that is scary.

Send a thank you message and a pop-up.

It performs the normal functions of a tip jar but with a jaw-dropping beauty.

Only 99L$.

Northern 150274 caught on a miserable evening of heavy sleet and wet snow, disappointingly not settling. Departing from Woodlesford into the night with 2F72 21:16 Knottingley to Leeds.

Flooding from the Red has a stark beauty.

The Grimming is a distinctive mountain range between Ennstal and Ausseerland. It is not accessible by mountain transportation, and its ascent is reserved for experienced alpinists.

En-route from Castlerigg Stone Circle to Derwnt Water, looking towards Thirlmere. I think there's a chance of rain.

Lafollette Cemetery, Almira, Washington.

Guess what game I got on the Steam sale?!

A rather forbidding looking view down a street in Paris.

The Grimming is a spectacular mountain in the valley of River Enns. in Styria (AT). At the right side of the mountain you will find Trautenfels Castle and even further to the right, just below the clouds, Chapel of St. John in Pürgg.

Surfing off the Pembroke coast - White Sands Bay.

View from Planneralm to Grimming through the Irdning-Donnersbach valley, Styria, Austria.

Getting up early enough just to get that sunrise shot . The sun may go up behind that cloud and the rest of the day may be a right off weatherwise....but you've got you're shot and you don't care :)

Happy Sliders Sunday :)

Playing with Silly Putty on Mono Monday

In screaming woods and empty rooms

or gloomy vaults and sunken tombs;

Where monks and nuns in dust decay

and shadows dance at close of day.

Where the bat dips on the wing

and spectral choirs on breezes sing;

Where swords of ancient battles clash

and shimmering shades for freedom dash.

Where raging storms at midnight howl

and distant rolls of thunder growl.

Where the hounds of hell take flight

and ghost clouds race across the night.

Where silver webs of spiders weave

and star-crossed lovers take their leave.

Where curses lay the spirits low

and mortal footsteps fear to go.

Where death holds life in grim embrace

its lines etched on the sinner's face.

Where e'er the march of time is flaunted

voices cry - "this place is haunted."

We like picturesque castles. This is more the reality, a forbidding dark damp mass relieved only by arrow slits and a few unreachable narrow high windows. A daunting prospect to invaders. This is the Norman keep (1152 AD) of Castle Rising in Norfolk, one of England's best preserved.

Birds in dreary autumn sky.

Caught the last of a flock of birds flying across a cloudy and grim sky.

....up north.....all you London types with expensive houses.....don't come north....it's grey and wet and not many Waitrose stores

Well, what can I say...Tier 4 has arrived and so I’m barrel scraping for inspiration.
