I could just set down by the side of the Anhinga Trail and photograph these little herons fishing as long as I wanted to -- they didn't seem to pay any attention to the people watching or passing by.
Wikipedia: Green Herons are intolerant of other birds when feeding and are not seen to forage in groups. They typically stand still on shore or in shallow water or perch upon branches and await prey. Sometimes they drop food, insects, or other small objects on the water's surface to attract fish, making them one of the few known tool-using species.

We're on the way to The Mud/Cobra Field.
Lots of rain the last few days and last night
it was a nasty storm. Lightning, Wind, Rain !
At midnight things were calming down
a little bit but at 3:AM it started back up.
By 5:AM it had completely stopped so I
took an hour nap. By 7:AM we took off ;-)
Field was extremely wet, mud was
trying to pull a Mr Murphy on me.
I out maneuvered him today. No
emergency equipment needed.
Dogs went nuts, racing, leaping,
yodeling, and doing back flips.
And of course they had to dive
right into the cow manure bags.
Once home all 3 dogs are washed
while still tethered in the sidecar.
Then it was breakfast time ;-)---

Green River south of the Split Mountain Anticline. After the river emerges from Split Mountain Canyon it meanders across the softer sediments of the Jurassic Morrison Formation. Dinosaur National Monument. Uintah Co., Utah.
A Texas Green Jay flock consists of a breeding pair, the current year's nestlings, and one-year-old, non-breeding jays from the previous year's nest. The one-year-olds defend the territory, which aids the parents, but they are ejected from the family flock soon after the current year's nestlings have fledged.

At first glance, this bottle green jumpsuit makes you look more like a plumer or a construction worker than like an inmate. But the restraints make the difference! This massive chain around your waist clearly shows that you are not a free man. The chain keeps your hands close to your hips, not allowing much movement. You may say hi to your family and friends who have come to the court hearing for your support, but you won't be able to do much more. So just try to make yourself as comfortable as it can get in these cuffs and chains. Accept that you broke the rules and you're now paying the prize.

Photographed from a boat on the Sarapiqi river. I love photographing birds from the water - they are SO approachable. Next spring I hope to finally learn enough kayak skills that I am confident photographing them without the aid of a pontoon boat!
