We had our second snow event of the season this week, and my yard in Cumming received 2 inches. Although we had more snow during the December storm, the temperature was much colder this time, with single-digit wind chill. Here are some photos from around my yard.

The Melbourne Storm are the 2012 champs after a brutal game against a Doggies attack that wasn't allowed to play their natural game. Doggies again in the media for the wrong reasons to cap it off! Can't wait 'til next year! Victor will be back once a month during the off season, so stay tuned.......

Saving the world, one salad at a time!

So, in my Writing class, we're reading "the Omnivore's Dilemma." The whole first part is about corn. Seriously. One of our first assignments with the book was a free-write (meaning WRITE ABOUT ANYTHING) on your reaction to the first part of the book. I wrote about how I love eating veggies, and because I eat so many I should become a vegetable superhero.

And thus Green Machine was born. My sidekick is Fruit Kid, my friend Katie. She loooooves bananas, thus I made her a banana uniform. Our arch nemesis is the Evil Crisco Stick: a giant stick of shortening with a flaming head. Basically, our goal is to run around getting kids to eat healthy.
