A Porsche 911 seen parked in North London.

It's good to see that London is getting very green being concerned about the climate.

This beautifully coloured metallic green beetle was sampling the delights of my Galway rose flowers.

Lovely colourful nature .... what could be nicer?

Caught this epic showdown on a chilly Dublin street, where a Yamaha Tracer 9 was flexing its horsepower right in front of a Paddywagon Scania Irizar, ready to whisk tourists on a legendary Ireland tour. The Tracer 9, all sleek and snarling, looked like it was saying, “I’ve got the real power here—watch me zoom to Galway faster than you can say ‘leprechaun!’” But the Paddywagon, decked out in shamrock glory, just smirked with its “Paddy Power” vibes, ready to take on the Cliffs of Moher, Killarney, and Dingle in one epic loop. Who needs a bookmaker when you’ve got this much Paddy power on wheels?

I couldn’t help but chuckle imagining the Tracer 9 revving up for a race, only for the Paddywagon to honk back, “Pal, I’m carrying 50 tourists to the Glendalough—I’ve got the horsepower of their excitement!” The Yamaha might have the speed, but the Paddywagon’s got the stories—tales of Irish folklore that’d make even the Tracer’s engine purr with envy. In the background, the “Happy Fling House” sign seemed to cheer them on, as if Dublin itself was placing bets on who’d win this battle of the road titans. Any takers on this Paddy Power showdown?

This shot’s got it all—grit, green, and a whole lot of Irish spirit! The contrast between the Tracer 9’s raw energy and the Paddywagon’s promise of emerald adventures is pure magic. I can almost hear the bus driver cracking jokes about the motorbike’s “need for speed” while the Tracer rider dreams of cutting through the Irish countryside at 90 mph.

It is not my generation that will suffer too much, but it is our children and future generations that will suffer. The climate is changing more than we would expect and as humans we need to change our ways. The world will be here after we are gone and if we continue like we are that will be sooner than we think.

A note for older Fuji X camera owners, I have discovered there is an older version of X Raw which will help to convert older cameras RAW files like the XF10, XA-3 and the original X100, i.e., Bayer sensors. It is not great I must confess and based on a Silkpix program. It is slow but I am sure you can sort out the pre-sets to assist. Finally, I did not know that if you set up a simulation in these cameras the setting will show in the RAW files.

Here is a little information on the P31 Aperitif:

Hailing from the old Venetian Republic P31 is an Italian light, natural green aperitif created from the infusion of more than 20 selected aromatic herbs, connected to the fresh essence of Absinthe.

Chamomile, cinnamon, orange, spike, gentian, marjoram, coriander, rhubarb, ginger, and vanilla work together to form this stunning Green Spritz!

The Riverdale Branch has some action this day as SJV RR 2406, showing us its only non-tagged side, eases down the run around track north of the town of Helm with eleven tank cars in tow. Piles of ties in the distance and new ballast indicates some line improvements have been made in recent months. We're adjacent to the Simplot facility at this location.

For general information, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Marine_Corps#Origins

For background, see and learn much more than: Background

Originally organized as the Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 as naval infantry, the Marine Corps has evolved in its mission with changing military doctrine and American foreign policy. The Marine Corps has served in every American armed conflict including the Revolutionary War. It attained prominence in the 20th century when its theories and practice of amphibious warfare proved prescient and ultimately formed the cornerstone of the Pacific campaign of World War II.[3] By the mid 20th century, the Marine Corps had become the dominant theorist of amphibious warfare.[4][5][6] Its ability to rapidly respond to regional crises has made it, and continues to make it, an important body in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy.[7]

The United States Marine Corps, with 180,000 active duty and 40,000 reserve Marines as of 2005, is the smallest of the United States' armed forces in the Department of Defense (the Coast Guard, about one fifth the size of the Marine Corps, is under the Department of Homeland Security). The Corps is nonetheless larger than the entire armed forces of many significant military powers; for example, it is larger than the active duty Israel Defense Forces.[8][9]

We had our second snow event of the season this week, and my yard in Cumming received 2 inches. Although we had more snow during the December storm, the temperature was much colder this time, with single-digit wind chill. Here are some photos from around my yard.
